😀 Sports Day 2026 😀

There was fun and games galore as we enjoyed our annual sports day today! ⚽️ 🏐

The junior races provided lots of entertainment as our youngest classes showed off their amazing athletics skills!! 👏👏

Meanwhile, the senior classes were enjoying penalty shootouts, volleyball, target games and a new addition to our Sports Day, a Mini Hyrox!! 💪💪

We all gathered together to enjoy the Senior class races and all the children showed brilliant athleticism, but most importantly, tremendous sportsmanship! 🤗🤗

We finished the day with a visit from the ice cream man and all the children enjoyed their ice creams and played games with their friends!🍦

A special word of thanks to our Parents’ Association for serving teas, coffee, tray bakes and many other delicious goodies. Thank you to all of our families who sent in goodies with their children too! Everyone contributed to a special day for our students! 😀😀

Tá áthas orainn a fhógairt gur bronnadh teastas ar Scoil Náisiúnta Naomh Muire, Glasloch, mar aitheantas ar chríochnú rathúil ár gcéad bhliain ag glacadh páirte sa tionscnamh Gaelbhratach.

I rith na bliana, d'oibrigh ár ndaltaí agus ár bhfoireann go díograiseach chun an Gaeilge a chur chun cinn agus a cheiliúradh inár scoil trí réimse leathan gníomhaíochtaí agus tionscnamh. Ó Frása na Seachtaine agus Gaeilge na Míosa go cluichí sa chlós agus ár bhFoireann Fáilte, tá an Gaeilge anois ina cuid níos infheicthe agus níos bríomhaire de shaol laethúil na scoile.

Is fianaise é an éacht seo ar thiomantas, ar chruthaitheacht agus ar obair chrua ár gCoiste Gaelbhratach, ár ndaltaí, ár bhfoireann agus phobal na scoile i gcoitinne.

Táimid ag tnúth le cur leis an rath seo an bhliain seo chugainn agus muid ag leanúint lenár dturas chun grá agus meas ar an nGaeilge a chothú i Scoil Naomh Muire.

🇮🇪 Gaelbhratach Award for St. Mary’s 🇮🇪

We are delighted to announce that St. Mary's National School, Glaslough has been awarded a certificate in recognition of the successful completion of our first year participating in the Gaelbhratach initiative.

Throughout the year, our pupils and staff have worked enthusiastically to promote and celebrate the Irish language in our school through a wide range of activities and initiatives. From Frása na Seachtaine and Gaeilgóir na Míosa to cluichí sa chlós and our Foireann Fáiltithe, Gaeilge has become an increasingly visible and vibrant part of daily school life.

This achievement is a testament to the commitment, creativity and hard work of our Coiste Gaelbhratach, pupils, staff and wider school community.

We look forward to building on this success next year as we continue our journey to foster a love and appreciation of the Irish language in St. Mary's.

We are very excited about the Breakfast and Afterschool Club which will run in St. Mary’s from September 2026! 🤗🤗

This service will be operated by Glaslough Community Playgroup and will provide a safe, caring and supportive environment for children before and after the school day. 😀😀

Any parents or guardians who are interested in availing of the service are asked to register their interest using the details on the poster! 📞

We are thrilled to be in a position to provide this service to our school community and are very thankful to Glaslough Community Playgroup for coming on board for what we hope will be a wonderful partnership! 🤝
