Runaway Hands is a professional piano studio, based in Monaghan, which aims to help anyone with interest in music, specifically piano. I prepare my students for both RIAM and ABRSM graded exams. I pride myself for orgaising a recital for my students twice a year - once at Christmas and once before the summer vacation. It gives everyone a great opportunity to stand before an audience and perform th

eir music, which is an invaluable lesson! All ages and levels are very much welcome! I little bit about myself:
I started with private lessons at the age of 7, until my teacher saw that I could continue learning piano at the national musical secondary school in Burgas, my home town. In Bulgaria, where I am from, there are secondary schools dedicated to different professions and specialties, like English language, or Mechanics, or Music, etc...
I graduated with high marks and a certificate of professional qualification - "Artist - instrumentalist - specialty - Piano"
After that I continued my music&piano education in the National Academy of Music, Sofia, with prof. Atanas Kourtev - one of my biggest mentors, where I got a Bachelor in Classical Piano. Later on I got a Masters in Computers in Music Education from the Sofia University. I have taken part in a few piano competitions, such as The 3rd National Piano Competition “Franz Shubert”, Rousse, 2001 – 2nd Prize Piano;
16th National Competition for Best Performance of a Bulgarian Composition, “Varban Varbanov”, 2002, Burgas – 2nd Prize – Piano Accompaniment;
16th National Competition for Best Performance of a Bulgarian Composition, “Varban Varbanov”, 2002, Burgas - Encouragement Award - Piano Duo

I started teaching first as a subject in my second and third level education, and later on in October 2014 as I started my piano studio in Monaghan, Ireland. In 2022/23 I completed a one-year, level 6 course in Music Composition for Video Games at Griffith College, Dublin and found that this is a field I really enjoy working in and would love to pursue even further. Possibly do a Master's degree in Music Composition for Film soon.

Every teacher’s goal is to become obsolete!
Little Chloe learned the Piano Man with a very little help from me and played it at a wedding at the end of May! Wow! 🤩✨👏🏻 Massive well done to this little pianist!

Packed full of ideas, what a weekend! I came home with new piano books, encouraging stickers and figurines (the kids will understand my excitement about the last two 🙂) I met with many piano and composition teachers from Ireland, UK, US, Australia and China!
I need to let the ideas brew for a while before I start to implement them into our lessons!
Can’t wait! 🎼
