A different view of school life! 📸

While checking the progress of our roof works from the scaffolding, we had the opportunity to capture these lovely views of our school grounds below from pupils enjoying time with their friends to our magnificent old cedar tree and the Galtee Mountains in the distance.

It was a wonderful reminder that, while important improvement works are taking place overhead, the everyday life of Bunscoil na Toirbhirte continues happily below.

We are delighted to share that Phase One of our school improvement works has now been completed.

The work to the roof of our Halla has addressed the ongoing leaks and will help to keep the building warmer, drier and more energy efficient for our pupils and staff.

This is the first of several planned roof improvements, and we look forward to sharing details of Phases Two, Three and Four in the coming weeks.

A fantastic lunchbox idea from Ms. Hyland at Bunscoil na Toirbhirte, Mitchelstown. Who has been doing wonderful work over the summer looking after the Bunscoil raised bed and is no doubt benefiting from lots of excellent advice from all Mitchelstown Allotment Group

The Allotments are in full bloom and waiting for everyone to visit this Saturday & Sunday.

Entry is free and you can drop in and learn their story, meet the members, visit the polytunnels, pick up some tips and see how the allotments have benefited community groups and schools including Bunscoil na Toirbhirte, Mitchelstown. who have their own bed of produce.

There will be a tour for visitors, talks, refreshments and you can "graze as you go" by tasting some of the produce as you explore.

We will have Creative minds crafts on the day getting creative with a "bugs and butterflies" theme for the kids.

This is a community event and all ages are welcome.

Well done to our wonderful Third Class, who, in partnership with Tearmann Uí Chaoimh, raised €521 for the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
