We had an incredible turnout for our two Heritage Week events last week! A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and to Dr. Pádraig Browne and Dr. Kevin Daly for delivering two fascinating presentations on “The Brehon Laws: Ancient Irish Ways & Customs” and “Ancient DNA of the Old Irish Goat”, respectively. ☘️🐐

We’re so sorry that we had to turn people away from the Brehon Laws talk due to the fantastic response. We’re delighted to announce that, following the huge interest, we’ll be hosting the talk again on Culture Night, Friday 18th September 2026.

Paint the Wild Atlantic with Nina Patterson this September! 🎨

We’re delighted to welcome artist Nina Patterson to Mulranny Arts for 'Painting the Elements: Nature, Light & the Wild Atlantic' — a wonderful 2-day En Plein Air Painting Workshop on the 19th & 20th September.

With painting sessions taking place in Mulranny and on beautiful Achill Island, you’ll be surrounded by some of Mayo’s most inspiring landscapes; dramatic coastlines, mountains, beaches and ever-changing Atlantic skies.

Spend two immersive days painting outdoors with Nina, learning to capture light, movement, atmosphere and the elements.

🌊 Guided en plein air painting sessions in Mulranny & Achill Island
🎨 Oils, acrylics, watercolour or mixed media
👩‍🎨 Suitable for all levels
🥗 Lunch & refreshments included each day
🏡 Full use of the Mulranny Arts studio

Our Jewellery Making Tasters saw participants creating their own copper bangles, earrings and pendants, as well as beautiful silver metal clay pieces, all guided by the wonderful Rachel Mathews-McKay 💍🔨

Saturday's Landscape Painting workshop with Padraig McCaul brought a wonderful creative energy to Mulranny Arts. 🎨

The group spent some time in our Clew Bay Room, working with Padraig's demonstrations and guidance - with the beautiful local landscapes providing plenty of inspiration.

We're thrilled to welcome Padraig McCaul back to Mulranny Arts this weekend! 🎨

Padraig has taught this workshop here many times and we're excited to have him back for another weekend of painting, learning and creativity.

It's always incredible seeing the studio come alive with the fabulous landscapes of the West of Ireland - and we know this weekend will be no different!

The countdown is on for our two events here in Mulranny Arts!

Thursday 20th August at 8pm - "The Brehon Laws: Ancient Irish Ways & Customs". A talk by Dr. Pádraig Browne.

Friday 21st August at 8pm - "Ancient DNA of the Old Irish Goat". A presentation by Dr. Kevin Daly, geneticist and Associate Professor at UCD.
