Today would have been F***y Mendelssohn's birthday. Like her brother Felix, she showed prodigious musical ability as a child but sadly, being a woman in the 19th century, she wasn't encouraged in the same way Felix was. She still managed to compose around 460 pieces of music and here is two of them. (I couldn't decide which to pick.)

Our very own Stephanie Abe (Piano) is performing tomorrow at the Thursday's Lunch Time Concert hosted by NUI Maynooth Music Department.
Stephanie will be performing with Eoin Kenny (Cello).
The programme will include works by Rachmaninov, Prokofiev and Ben McHugh.
Pop along to Riverstown, South Campus, NUI Maynooth at 1:10pm for a treat on a Thursday afternoon.
