We meet fortnightly from September to May at The Hibernian Hotel, Mallow, from 7:45 PM to 10 PM. Welcome to Speak Easy Toastmasters in Mallow! Since our founding on April 1, 1993, we’ve been a vibrant community dedicated to helping individuals develop their public speaking skills and boost their confidence. As Club Number 9298, we’ve proudly served our members with engaging and supportive meetings

for over three decades. We gather every other week from September to May at The Hibernian Hotel, Mallow, from 7:45 PM to 10 PM. Our meetings offer a blend of structured activities designed to help you improve your speaking and leadership skills. You'll have the opportunity to deliver prepared speeches, engage in spontaneous speaking exercises, and receive constructive feedback—all in a supportive and friendly environment. Toastmasters is more than just a place to practice public speaking; it's a powerful platform for personal growth. By participating, you'll build essential skills such as effective communication, leadership, and critical thinking. These skills can boost your confidence, enhance your career prospects, and enrich your personal interactions. Whether you're a seasoned speaker or just starting out, our club is the perfect place to practice and refine your abilities. Speakeasy returns to Mallow Library

In February 2024, Speakeasy Toastmasters held a hugely enjoyable Meeting in Mallow Library.

On this coming Saturday, 29th August, we host "A Taste of Toastmasters ".

Guests will be treated to a mini Meeting to demonstrate how a Toastmasters Meeting works.

If you wish to develop and hone your communication skills, need assistance with that "Special Occasion" speech or learn impromptu speaking techniques, why not pay us a visit?

It starts at 1.45pm and finishes at 3.00PM.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Speakeasy at Mallow Library!

Speakeasy Toastmasters are hosting a Taster Meeting at Mallow Library on Saturday 29th August.

Assembling at 1.45pm for a 2.00pm start, guests will witness a mini Speakeasy Meeting.

There will be Speeches, Evaluations and an Impromptu Speaking session. Guests can ask questions about our Club.

Speakeasy Toastmasters is dedicated to assisting our Members to communicate with ease and confidence.

Refreshments included and admission is free.

Recognition Rocks!!

Speakeasy Toastmasters will resume Meetings in early September.

In the meantime, let's celebrate our wonderful achievements last Season.

Speakeasy Toastmasters achieved the President's Distinguished Award.

This award is given to High Achieving Clubs. Our achievement is a tribute to Club Members who delivered Speeches and attained certain goals.

It is also a tribute to our outgoing Club Officers whose diligent work and inspiring leadership laid the groundwork for a hugely enjoyable year.

Congratulations to all our Members who achieved their goals and those who assisted and mentored our Speakers.

And a big shout-out to outgoing President Paul Corcoran and Vice President Margaret O'Regan for their leadership and inspiration.

Speak Easy Mallow Toastmasters Celebrates a Year of Growth, Voice, and New Leadership 🎤✨

Members of Speak Easy Mallow Toastmasters recently gathered at the Hibernian Hotel for an evening celebrating communication, creativity, and achievement, marking the close of another successful club year 🏆

The night featured a diverse programme of prepared speeches, poetry, impromptu speaking, and evaluations, reflecting the core mission of Toastmasters International: empowering individuals to become more confident communicators and leaders 🌍🗣️

Highlights included a reflective reading of Ozymandias, engaging prepared speeches spanning storytelling, humour, and presentation mastery, and the club’s signature Table Topics session, where members sharpened their impromptu speaking skills in real time ⚡🎭

The evening also marked a significant leadership transition, with outgoing President Paul Corcoran formally handing over the presidency to Rachel Liston for the 2026/27 Toastmasters year, signalling a new chapter for the club 🔄🤝

A special recognition was awarded to James McConville, named Jerry Mulcahy Toastmaster of the Year for his outstanding contribution to club life, particularly in public relations and member support 🌟👏

The celebrations continued with an end-of-year gathering at the Hibernian Hotel, honouring the dedication, progress, and community spirit that defined the year 🍽️🎉

🎤🌹 Leadership in Action at The Rose Conference 2026 🌹🎤

A proud moment for Speak Easy Mallow Toastmasters as our very own Paul Corcoran chaired the International Speech Contest at the District 71 Finals during the Rose Conference 2026 in Tralee. Paul was also the recipient of Toastmasters of the year for the Area!!

Chairing a District-level contest is no small task — requiring professionalism, organisation and calm leadership to ensure a smooth and successful event.

Paul guided proceedings with confidence and care, helping create an enjoyable and engaging experience for contestants and audience members alike. 👏

At Toastmasters, leadership grows through service — and it’s wonderful to see members of Speak Easy Mallow contributing at District level and supporting the wider Toastmasters community.

🏆🎤 District Podium Finish for Speak Easy Mallow! 🎤🏆

A huge congratulations to Pat Sexton, who proudly represented Area 17 and Division A at the District 71 Finals during the Rose Conference 2026 in Tralee. Pat competed in all three competitions: International Speech Contest, Evaluation Contest and Table Topics Contest respectively 🌹

Competing against the strongest Toastmasters speakers from across Ireland and the UK, Pat demonstrated incredible composure, quick thinking and speaking skill under pressure.

🥉 We are incredibly proud to celebrate Pat securing 3rd place at District level for the Table Topics Contest — an outstanding achievement and a proud moment for Speak Easy Mallow Toastmasters.

Getting to District level takes dedication, courage and commitment — and placing on the podium is something truly special.

Pat’s journey from Club → Area → Division → District is a brilliant reminder of what happens when you continue to grow, challenge yourself and step outside your comfort zone.

✨ Growth. Laughter. Confidence. ✨

There's always a moment of calm at the beginning of each Toastmasters meeting.

An opportunity for our Speakers to center themselves before their moment in the spotlight. Nothing else can replace that feeling of excitement for delivering a speech that you feel passionate about. A topic that you want to share with others. Something that will have an impact on their day and sometimes their lives.

Enjoy that calm before the buzz of guests and members taking their seats. It won't last too long.

Always happy to see each other and welcome guests, there is no other club that gives as warm and enthusiastic a welcome as Speak Easy Toastmasters in Mallow.

We had another fantastic evening on Thursday 14th May 2026, as we gathered for the second-last meeting of the 2025–26 season in the Hibernian Hotel.

From engaging speeches to supportive evaluations, the night was filled with learning, encouragement and members stepping outside their comfort zone.

✨ Liam Flynn’s insightful and humorous ice breaker

✨ A lively Table Topics session by Paul Gallagher encouraging members to think on their feet

Every speech, role and evaluation helped create the supportive and encouraging environment that makes Toastmasters so special.

And with only one meeting left this season, there’s never been a better time to visit!

🎤✨Confidence in Action✨🎤

Another engaging and enjoyable evening at Speak Easy Mallow Toastmasters on April 30th in the Hibernian Hotel — a night full of learning, connection and confidence-building.

👏 Highlights from the night:

Each speaker stepped up, shared their message, and received supportive feedback — all part of building confidence and communication skills in a positive environment.

💬 With a lively Table Topics session and great energy in the room, it was truly a night full of fun, learning and laughter.

We do more than give Speeches!

Have you ever found yourself at a Meeting that is poorly run? Perhaps the Chairperson speaks too much and the Agenda is chaotic?

In Toastmasters, we don't just present Speeches, we also learn the important skill of running a Meeting in an orderly but friendly manner.

The Club President opens and closes the Meeting and also deals with items of Club business.

The Toastmaster of the Evening runs the Meeting, introducing the Speakers and other key roles. It's all done in a timely fashion so the audience doesn't turn into pumpkins.

The Topicsmaster leads the Impromptu section of the Meeting, acting as a Discussion Leader, encouraging contributions.

These are the vital skills of Leadership we can acquire in Toastmasters.

Another engaging and enjoyable evening at Speak Easy Mallow Toastmasters on April 16th in the Hibernian Hotel — with a special visit from our Area Director, making the night even more memorable.
From a strong programme to a supportive and encouraging environment, the meeting showcased what Toastmasters is all about — finding your voice and growing in confidence.
