Tip O’Neill at Mallow,County Cork Golf Club,July 1987.

THOMAS P. (TIP) O'NEILL VISITS MALLOW, CO. CORK GOLF CLUB AND MEETS JAMES COTTER.

In July 1987 Tip O'Neill the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives paid a visit to Mallow Golf Club.

His paternal grandparents were Mallow born Julia nee Fox and Patrick O'Neill.
From Donegal his maternal grandparents Eunice nee Fullerton from Sleidrin, Buncrana and James Tolan from Inishowen.
Since that visit we are delighted that his son Tom, wife Shelly, Tip's daughter Rosemary, his nephew Brian and wife Pat, daughter Lynne, Tips grandson Tom with his wife Miin, have continued to visit us over the years.

Mallow Golf Club also has a very active tennis club on site (Mallow Tennis Club) with four state of the art all weather courts, two squash courts and an extremely busy Bridge Club.
The President in 1948 was Monsignor J.W. Sheehy,
