St. Colman's BNS Macroom St. Colman's Boys’ National School located in Sleaveen East , is proud to carry on the long tradition of Primary School education in the town of Macroom. At St.

The present school building established in 2009 followed on from the town’s previous national schools which had been located in Masseytown, Castle Street, School Lane, Chapel Hill and Cork St. Up to 1991 the school was run for many years by the De La Salle Brothers. Colman’s we are proud of our roots and seek to blend this with the many advances of modern day education. We strive to provide the highest quality all round education for the boys of Macroom and its hinterland in this the 21st Century. A Changing School. Since January 2001 due to increasing enrolments there are 15 permanent teachers on staff and we have shared Learning Support and Resource Teachers. It was a truly momentous occasion on March 2nd 2009 when we moved to the new school. Since then we have had many visitors through the door, all of them very impressed with the thoroughly modern building, complete with interactive whiteboards for each class. The new school also includes state of the art classrooms, a library, an office, a computer room, a G.P Hall , new play areas and a school pitch.
