Day 2 of ASW was a roaring success. The weather was on our side. We started the day the active way with 10 exercises on the soft play at 10am. In the afternoon we had great fun doing a catch the train race and a relay around the school grounds. Everyone put their best effort in and had a great time!

AIMS Award
Congratulations to our sixth class pupil, Tess, on her outstanding achievement of winning an AIMS award at the weekend in Killarney. Tess achieved this award for the 'Best Youth Performance in Ireland', for her lead role in Annie with SONG, Dundalk. This is an extraordinary achievement for someone so young and reflects the huge talent, hard work and dedication put in by her.We are all so proud of you Tess and cannot wait to see what else you achieve in the future 🙌 💥.

Wow. What a way to kick off Active Schools Week 2026!! We had a lovely walk into the village (with an added splash of colour - An Lú Abú!). We sat on the green and received a lovely treat from Rocksalt - a gingerbread man and a hot chocolate for everyone. Much appreciated and enjoyed. A wonderful way to start a busy active week.

Active Schools Week 2026
Our Active Schools week will commence next Monday 15th June and run for the week, finishing with our annual Sports Day and BBQ Fri 19th. We will launch ASW for this year with our "Sponsored Stroll" on Monday. Please return sponsorship cards this Thursday 11th June. Thank you for your continued support. Stay tuned to the school website and page for daily updates and activities. The children will have some "Active Homework" also so the whole family can get involved. Enjoy!

Summer Stars programme is now live in all Louth libraries so grab a pack and get reading!

Summer Stars is a free national reading programme for children and takes place throughout the summer months, from June until the end of August, across all Louth library branches, Dundalk, Drogheda, Ardee, Dunleer and Carlingford.

Children across County Louth are encouraged to join the adventure and discover the joy and pleasure of reading over the summer holidays. Summer Stars is non-competitive, and every child who reads even one book or e-book is regarded as having completed the programme – and it’s all completely free!

Joining Summer Stars is simple, just visit your local library branch in Dundalk, Drogheda, Ardee, Dunleer or Carlingford and sign up for free.

Each child will receive a free Summer Stars pack, which includes:
• A reading card to track your reading adventures throughout the summer
• An activity book with engaging literacy friendly activities
• A bookmark to mark your place while reading
• A summer stars bag to keep your summer reads

A wide range of free events and activities will take place across library branches to celebrate Summer Stars, including storytimes and arts and crafts activities.

Excuse the quality of these photos as the children from the senior classes were a constant blur of movement on their school tour yesterday with Just4fun tours! They had a blast and our junior classes are off on Monday to have their turn with all the inflatables and games.

5th Class recently completed their European Union topic by creating suitcase projects based on EU countries. Their cases are packed with interesting facts, cultural discoveries and creative ideas—providing lots of inspiration for future travel! 🌍✈️🇪🇺
