Do you spend hours studying and still do not do well on your test or have no idea how to go about studying.

Good study habits are important for success in school.

Knowing how to study effectively and efficiently fosters feelings of competence,develops positive attitudes,and helps children realise they can control how well they do in school and in life.

Learning by Pictures Study Skills programme uses techniques the includes all the above with a diary system included which will have the student organised on a daily basis.

I am sure you are all aware that it has being announced that all schools are to close from 6pm today to 29th of March.

At the moment the Study Hub will continue to function as normal as we don't have large numbers.

We will be running 3 Four Hour Slots per day starting next Monday 16th.

08.30am -12.30pm

12.45pm - 4.45pm

5pm - 9pm

Cost is €8 per 4 hour session for non registered students.

Leaving Certs will get preference but if spaces available JC very welcome also.

We will continue to ensure that students wash hands on arrival/departure, clean desks and any students showing symptoms will be asked not to attend.

I will also begin to check temperatures of students and staff on arrival and if there is any concerns teacher will be asked to leave premises and the students parents will be contacted immediately.

Students and staff safety are our top concern.

But so too is the Leaving Cert.Students and parents are concerned understandably re school closures and the effects closures will have on their final exams results.

You as parents must be the only ones to make the decision to send your children or not to study.
I believe that if we all follow the recommended guidelines from the HSE we will be able to continue with normal service for the moment.

But we will take it day by day.

Biggest thing is to keep safe and protect those most at risk.

Very exciting week working 1 to 1 with 2nd and 3rd level students on how to study and do revision effectively and efficiently.

To see a light bulb moment going off in the students head and witness there absolute pleasure when they realise they can learn in a visual way .
That they can use the State examination papers to their advantage, to figure out key points in any chapter which reduces Study time by HALF.

Out the door with this reading and re reading of chapters ,or thinking everything in the book is vital. POINTS, # VISUAL LEARNING SYSTEM #

So well done to each student and their parent that sat through the 3 hour session and were so enthusiastic and encouraging to their child. Enjoy the weekend.

WHY ATTEND SATURDAY STUDY 10AM -2PM for €6 non registered students ??
Students are fresh after good night sleep, more focused on revision than homework,phone free and distraction free environment and it only cost €6 for non-registered students. No need to book just be on time 10am sharp!!!
