Starting primary school is a big step for children — and for parents too.

This session will support parents with practical ways to help children feel more confident, secure and ready for the move from Early Years to primary school.

We’ll look at everyday things that can make a real difference, including:

• Building confidence and independence
• Supporting your child emotionally through the transition
• Helping with routines for the school day
• Encouraging practical skills like managing lunchboxes, coats and belongings
• Strengthening the connection between home, Early Years settings and school

Best of luck girls and coaches from all at Melview National School!

Next Sunday 23rd August Longford South & Town's U12 Girls Soccer team travel to SETU Carlow to compete in the Community Games Nationals. Their semi-final takes place at 11.30am and we want to wish them very best of luck. Have a fantastic day girls, we're all behind you!

I have been asked to share some info with you all which should be of interest to many & it’s a great opportunity to avail of

Longford GAA have been selected as 1 of 6 counties to run a *Hurling Have A Go Event* as part on National Heritage Week

The event is aimed at boys & girls born in the years *2016 to 2019 inclusive*

It will take place in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Wednesday Aug 19th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

It’s *free* to attend & all participants will get a commemorative T-Shirt but *pre registration is required*

Longford GAA will provide all participants with a Hurl & Helmet to use on the evening
