On Friday 18th from 6pm onwards Join digital artist Ken Coleman for a big screen demonstration of 3D technology, exploring how it can be integrated into a photography and digital painting workflow. A busy day in the LSAD Gallery today with art teachers in training introducing social care students to creative materials. These social care students then introduce the art teachers to care-based practices.This is a unique collaborative initiative involving the Social Care and Art & Design Education teams at the Limerick School of Art and Design (TUS).
As student wellbeing becomes a more central concern in art classrooms,art teachers now require social care models. With creative interventions becoming more important in social care settings, social carers now need the pedagogical tools of the art teacher.
This infra-disciplinary experiment was all about identifying the points where disciplines intersect, overlap, and converge.

We are looking forward to opening the LSAD Clare St Campus for Culture Night on September 18th and will be posting details of what will be on show in the days coming up to the event. First up is the recent install of work from the LSAD collection. This is the first display of a selection of work from TUS purchases over the years. This selection on the ground floor has been curated and installed by the LSAD technical staff. Culture Night for LSAD starts at 5pm on Friday 18th.

One of the exhibits for Meascán the final exhibition from post graduates in the LSAD Fine Art Masters programme. Open to the public from September 3th to the 8th. Taking the its title from the Irish word for mixture the show is installed throughout the Clare St Campus during the hours of 9.30 -5.00

Meascán presents a varied collection of newly realised works and approaches to contemporary art practice by a diverse group of artists working across drawing, painting, photography, print, sculpture, installation and moving image.

Created in response to individual lines of enquiry the works engage with a broad range of concerns and approaches, from the personal and political to questions of place, memory, material, identity and contemporary experience.

The Fine Art Master’s group at Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD) presents Meascán, the final exhibition of their Master’s programme, opening to the public on 31 August 2026.
Taking its title from the Irish word for mixture, Meascán brings together a diverse group of artists working across drawing, painting, photography, print, sculpture, installation and moving image. The exhibition features new work created specifically for the show, marking the culmination of each artist’s individual research and studio practice.
Rather than being organised around a single theme, Meascán allows distinct practices and perspectives to occupy the same space. The works engage with a broad range of concerns and approaches, from the personal and political to questions of place, memory, material, identity and contemporary experience.
Created in response to individual lines of enquiry, the works range from intimate and observational to experimental, sculptural and immersive. Their proximity within the exhibition creates unexpected connections and tensions, while retaining the independence of each artist’s practice.
The exhibition extends throughout LSAD’s Clare Street campus, from the Front Lobby and Main Foyer to the Sculpture Rooms and Confessional Space. Moving through these different spaces, visitors encounter a varied collection of newly realised works and approaches to contemporary art practice.
Meascán is open to the public from 31 August to 8 September 2026.
The official opening takes place on Thursday, 3 September at 3pm, with a reception and an opportunity to meet the participating artists.

The current Irish Arts Review features LSAD BA Fashion (with Collection Design)graduate Eabha Daly whose work 6 Hours is inspired by performance artist Marina Abramović’s performance ‘Rhythm 0’. Eabha’s collection explores themes of objectification, violence against women, and the layered complexity of human emotion and identity. Congratulations to Limerick School of Art and Design graduate Angel Robinson who has joined the Ormston House Artist Affiliate Scheme, through the open call to LSAD graduates. The Artist Affiliate Scheme, previously the Artist-in-Residence Scheme, is a support mechanism for artists based in the Limerick region and is tailored to the needs of the individual artist.
Angel Isaac Robinson (b. 2004) is an artist living in Limerick City, Ireland. Their work is site-and situation-specific, often informed by practices of oral learning, digital communication, and observational research, addressing questions of articulation, perception, and self-expression within on- and offline contexts.

Limerick School of Art and Design graduate Ríon Hannora Ní Dhonnabháin was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to study at the New School in New York.Ríon was named a Fulbright-Centennial Awardee for 2026-2027 and will join The New School’s Master’s programme in Fashion and Society.according to Fulbright Ireland,
Ríon’s work often sits between fine art and fashion. Inspired by the Baroque era while committed to contemporary, non-oppressive fashion, she has developed a distinctive creative practice rooted in sustainability and craftsmanship.
“I feel very honoured to have been chosen for this award and am really looking forward to spending some time solely on my practice in New York,” she told the Limerick Post.

Technology for Fashion X Game Arts & Design: A Collaboration in Digital Innovation. Innovation thrives through collaboration, and this exciting project brought together our fourth-year Technology for Fashion students with third-year Game Art & Design student Dato Karaia.
As part of the collaboration, the Technology for Fashion students shared the research behind their final collections, including mood boards, concept development, and CLO digital files.
Drawing inspiration from each student’s creative vision, Dato designed immersive environments that showcased a selected garment from each collection, transforming the students’ research into an engaging visual experience.
The project demonstrates the power of cross-disciplinary collaboration, where fashion technology and game design merge to enhance storytelling and presentation. It reflects the evolving nature of the creative industries, where graduates increasingly work across fashion, gaming, virtual production, and immersive digital experiences.
The quality of the final presentation is a testament to the creativity, technical skill, and commitment.
Congratulations to Dato and the Technology for Fashion students for producing such an outstanding body of work.
We look forward to building on this partnership between Technology for Fashion and Game Art & Design and continuing to explore new opportunities for innovation at the intersection of fashion, gaming and digital technology.
