This week we have been learning about colours

🔴 Circle Time Fun: We played interactive colour-sorting games, named our favourite shades, and searched the room for matching objects.
🔵 Sensory Tuff Trays: Little hands were busy digging, mixing, and exploring vibrant textures, watching magic happen as primary colours blended together!
🟡 Sensory Footprint Path: A huge favourite! The children made a colorful track using their feet.
🟢 Creative Crafts: we explored different colours through fun crafts- painting, gluing, stamping and sandpaper shading.

We had so much fun diving into the world of shapes through play, songs, and hands-on discovery.

Circle Time Fun: We practiced shape identification and sorting together! The children loved finding matching shapes and figuring out where each one belonged.

Shape Songs: We sang our way through the four main shapes—circle, square, triangle, and rectangle—learning their names and features through fun, memorable catchy tunes.

Tuff Trays & Art: Our sensory tuff trays and messy art stations were packed with shape-themed activities, letting the children trace, build, stamp, and create while exploring different textures.

The Great Shape Hunt: Equipped with their special shape magnifying glasses, our little detectives went on a room-wide hunt to spot circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles hidden all around us!

It’s been a fantastic week watching their confidence grow as they spot shapes everywhere they look!

Exploring Our Feelings!

This week our preschool has been exploring emotions through The Colour Monster! 📚

🌟 All About Me! 🌟

This week in preschool, we’ve been celebrating everything that makes us unique and special! The children have loved diving into our "All About Me" topic, exploring what makes us similar, what makes us different, and all the wonderful things that make us us!

We’ve been talking about our families, our friends, where we live, and all our favorite things to do and play.

In circle time we played lots of different name games, learning that our name is special and unique to us.

From hair and eye color to skin tones and height, we discussed all the fantastic ways we are unique!

Some fun activities we did this week included

🧩 Matching up body part jigsaws
🪞 Crafting and making our very own mirrors
🎨 Decorating faces using fun sensory materials, decorating the first letter of our names.
🎨 Shaping and sticking features using playdough and glue
📏 Measuring how tall we are and checking out our reflections in real mirrors!

It has been a wonderful learning about ourselves.

🌈 Welcome Back to Preschool! 🌈

What a lovely first two weeks we’ve had! We have been so busy settling back into our preschool routine, welcoming back our returning children and getting to know all of our new friends.

The children have been busy exploring, playing, making new friendships and getting to know their teachers and their new surroundings. It has been wonderful watching everyone grow in confidence each day!

We’re looking forward to a fantastic year full of fun, learning, laughter and lots of special memories together!

This weeks theme was transitions to primary school. We practiced tracing and cutting. Made our name pictures and packed our school bags. We also played number, colour and shape games and read books about new schools.
Molly also came to circle to talk about how she was a bit nervous about new school but the children did a great job or reassuring her!

Special thanks go to Sinead McKenna the junior infants teacher in Limerick School

This week in preschool we have been learning all about Summer – even if the weather didn’t quite get the memo! ☀️🌦️

Our little learners got creative making colourful watermelons and kites, and had great fun painting sandcastles using a special mix of sand and paint.

In our sensory trays, the children enjoyed making lemonade, exploring a beach-themed tray, matching colours to the beach ball wheel, and washing all the sandy toys clean.

It has been a week full of hands-on learning, creativity, and lots of summer fun! 🍉🏖️

🚜🐄 Farm Fun at Preschool! 🐑🐥

Over the past week we have been learning about life on the farm. The children learned about the important role of the farmer and discovered the different animals that live on a farm, what they provide for us, and the names of their baby animals.

Our farm theme came to life through a variety of exciting sensory and hands-on activities. The children enjoyed feeding the farm animals, trying their hand at milking cows, creating wonderful artwork using animal and tractor paint stamping, and washing our very muddy farm animals clean!

During circle time, we used a range of books, songs, and interactive games to reinforce our learning. These activities helped the children build their vocabulary, develop their understanding of life on the farm, and engage their imaginations through storytelling, music, and play.
