“Congratulations to our amazing 2026 KBS CATALYST team. This team enthusiastically delivered 50 individual climate change workshops to 1st year Kemmy Business School students over three days during their first week on campus.

Through the workshops, our 1st year students had the opportunity to learn about climate change in small groups in an interactive manner, giving them an opportunity to get to know some of their classmates during Week 1.
We are so proud of our superb teaching team who warmly and innovatively encouraged the students to relax and engage actively with the workshops, giving them an enlightening Week 1 experience. Some of the CATALYST Team are pictured here.

Great to see new research from our KBS colleagues Dr Darragh Flannery and Professor Dónal Palcic featured in the Irish Examiner.

Their study found that short, regular homework assignments can improve students’ performance in maths and science, with frequency proving more important than the overall volume of work.

Students given 'short bursts' of homework perform better than those given long assignments, according to new research by UL academics.

The study, conducted by Dr Darragh Flannery and Professor Dónal Palcic, Kemmy Business School, also found the positive link between additional homework and improved test scores to be stronger where students were educated by more experienced teachers.
