✨ Patrickswell Community Playschool & Afterschool have enthusiastically been rolling out Bia Blasta since mid-September!

Bia Blasta is a new government-funded initiative aimed at improving nutrition for young children in early learning settings. The name Bia Blasta means “Delicious Food” in Irish.
Each day, children in ECCE receive a nutritious, balanced lunch as part of their preschool experience. Children are encouraged to take part in food preparation, menu planning, and shared mealtimes, helping them build confidence and curiosity around food.
Why Bia Blasta matters:
• Promotes healthy eating habits from an early age
• Supports children’s physical and cognitive development
• Makes mealtimes a fun, social, and educational part of the day
🟡 Important to note: In this initial phase, Bia Blasta is available only to ECCE services identified under the Equal Start model. All eligible services have been contacted by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE) and asked to roll out the initiative.
This programme is a positive step toward tackling child food poverty and ensuring all children have the opportunity to thrive.

⏰ Quiz starts at 8:00pm – Make sure to come early to grab a table!
