We’re delighted to have received lovely new tables and chairs for our pupils here in Kilcornan National School!🎉
This means we have some of our existing school furniture looking for a new home, and as a proud green school, we’d love to share it with our local community. 💚
We have tables and chairs in a range of sizes, from Junior Infants to Sixth Class, available for anyone who might be able to put them to good use — parents, family members, neighbours or community groups!
📩 Interested? Get in touch with our school secretary, Lorraine, at [email protected] or contact the school at 061 3993304 to arrange an appointment to come in, view the furniture and take away any items you’d like.
Please spread the word and help us give these tables and chairs a new lease of life! ♻️😊

What a wonderful moment in Kilcornan National School's history today as we moved into our brand new extension! Thank you to Fr. Wrenn and Leslie for blessing the rooms this morning and to the pupils and staff for helping out. All classes also received new tables and chairs! We are beyond excited for the teaching, learning and wonderful memories that are about to be made. Our sincere thanks to past and present Boards of Management, Parents' Councils and everyone who supported the school as well as Conor Kelly Construction and Drake Hourigan Architects for making this dream a reality.

We celebrated our Back to School Mass today, coming together as a school community to mark the beginning of a new school year.

A sincere thank you to Fr. Wrenn and Leslie for all their help in preparing and celebrating the Mass. A special thank you also to Ms. Wixted for providing the lovely music, which made the celebration extra special. 🎶✨

We wish all our pupils, staff and families a happy and successful school year ahead!

Our Junior and Senior Infants had lots of fun creating their own houses using a variety of 2D shapes and materials! 🏡✨

The children explored and identified different 2D shapes, using their creativity to construct colourful houses with lollipop sticks, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, wool and elastic bands. 🎨

A fun, hands-on way to develop our shape recognition, fine-motor skills, creativity and construction skills! 🌟

Well done, boys and girls! 👏🏠

🌳 National Tree Day 🌳

On Thursday, 1st October, we celebrated National Tree Day by planting a beautiful Scots Pine on our school grounds. 🌲

We’re looking forward to watching it grow and flourish over the years!

A big thank you to our Green-Schools Committee and our Junior and Senior Infants for helping to plant the tree. 🌱💚

What a lovely way to celebrate and care for our environment! 🌍🌳
