🚦🐝 BEEP BEEP! National Beep Beep Day at Busy Bees! 🐝🚗

What a wonderful week we’ve had learning all about Road Safety! Today we celebrated National Beep Beep Day with a very special visitor! 💛

Orla, our lovely local school lollipop lady, popped in to visit the boys and girls and brought us on a walk around our community, showing us how to cross the road safely. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

🍂🐝 What a week of discovery and adventure at Busy Bees!

From bubble potions to nature walks, our week has been filled with learning, laughter and fun! 🫧🌿

Today, we explored our community in search of autumn colours—red, yellow, green, brown and orange. The boys and girls gathered leaves, ran and played on the green, and enjoyed the swings. 🍁💛

We also met some lovely neighbours, a Garda who is moving into the area, the postman, Archie’s dad the painter, and Avery, Eva’s dog! 🐶 We are so lucky to have such a wonderful community, which is very special to everyone at Busy Bees.

Through these experiences, Aistear’s four themes came to life: Exploring and Thinking, Communicating, Identity and Belonging, and Well-being—as we made discoveries, shared ideas, connected with our neighbours and enjoyed playing together.

A lovely way to finish another busy week at preschool. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! 🐝🍂

🏗️🐝 Busy Bees visits Shannon Fields!

Today Liam from DNCF invited the boys and girls to visit the building site next to our preschool. They were so excited to see what has been happening on the other side of the wall!

We put on our hi-vis vests and wellies before heading over. Liam showed us his hard hat and explained why it is so important on a building site. We saw the foundations of a house, learned about materials that help keep homes warm in winter and cool in summer, and heard how different types of homes are being built for different people.

The children especially loved watching the long green concrete pump at work and spotting the cement mixer! 🚛

Our Aistear learning: This visit supported Exploring and Thinking as the children observed real building work and asked questions. It also supported Communicating as they learned new words and talked about what they saw, and Identity and Belonging as they explored a new part of their local community.

The development will be called Shannon Fields. We look forward to watching it take shape and hopefully visiting again. Thank you to Liam and DNCF for welcoming us and showing the children around! 💛

🚒 Fire Drill at Busy Bees 🐝

Today we practised our fire drill, and the children did a fantastic job! They listened carefully, stayed calm and followed our three important steps:

🛑 STOP
👂 LISTEN
🚶 WALK

We checked that our smoke alarms are working and asked the children to remind their families to check theirs at home too. We also talked about 112 and how it should only be called in an emergency.

This experience supported Aistear’s Wellbeing and Communicating themes as the children learned how to stay safe, listened to instructions and talked about what to do in an emergency. It also reflects Síolta’s focus on children’s health, welfare and safety. (ncca.ie⁠, ncca.ie⁠, siolta.ie⁠)

🐝 This Week at Busy Bees 🐝

We had another wonderful week at Busy Bees, with our main focus continuing to be on settling in, building friendships and developing a sense of belonging. It has been lovely to see the children becoming more comfortable, growing in confidence and beginning to feel part of our Busy Bees family. 💛

There was lots of fun and learning through play this week. The children enjoyed exploring the sand and water areas, while our parachute games were a huge hit! We saw wonderful sharing, turn-taking, cooperation and plenty of laughter as everyone played together. 🌈

Music time was another favourite—we definitely have some fantastic music lovers and enthusiastic dancers in our class! 🎶💃🕺

The children also expressed their creativity through painting and drawing, producing some beautiful artwork. We have noticed lots of eager little helpers throughout the day, all delighted to lend a hand and take responsibility for their preschool environment.

At lunchtime, we were delighted to see so many lovely, healthy lunches. The children enjoyed sitting together, chatting with their friends and developing their independence. 🍎🥪

We are very proud of how well everyone is settling in and of the kindness, friendships and sense of belonging already growing within our group.

🐝💛 Our First Week at Busy Bees Pre-School 2026!💛🐝

Today marks our first full week together at Busy Bees, and what a lovely start to our new preschool year it has been! 🌈✨

There have been a few little tears along the way — all part of starting somewhere new — but there have been so many more smiles, giggles, cuddles and happy moments. 🥰

Our first few weeks are all about taking things gently. We focus on helping the children settle in, build friendships, get to know their new routines and, most importantly, feel happy, safe and secure. 💛

Already we can see confidence growing, little friendships beginning to blossom and our Busy Bees becoming more comfortable in their new surroundings each day. 🐝🌼

We are so proud of them all and are really looking forward to the year ahead — lots of learning through play, outdoor adventures, creativity, friendships and, of course, plenty of fun!

Here’s to a wonderful year together at Busy Bees Preschool. 🐝💛🌈

🌻💛 Busy Bees Supporting Sunflower Days 💛🌻

What a lovely morning we had at Busy Bees Preschool! The children enjoyed a special breakfast with their friends, brought along their favourite teddies, and had lots of fun chatting, playing, and learning together.

What a lovely morning celebrating our Busy Bees Graduates of 2026! 🎓🐝

Today was a very special day as we marked the end of an important chapter and celebrated all that our graduates have achieved. We are so proud of each and every one of them for their growth, kindness, friendships, confidence and learning throughout their time with us.

Thank you to all our wonderful families for your support and for sharing this special milestone with us. Watching our little Busy Bees spread their wings and get ready for primary school is always emotional and rewarding.
