Our colleague Kerry McGlynn recently attended the CARU “Supporting Care & Compassion at End of Life in Nursing Homes: A Continuous Learning Programme”, delivered in association with the All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care, the Irish Hospice Foundation, and the HSE. The event was held in the Lakeside Hotel, Killaloe, Co. Clare, on June 18th and brought together practitioners committed to enhancing end-of-life care in nursing home settings. The theme of this years regional network event was called 'End of Life Care with Confidence'.

A particular highlight was Kerry’s contribution, having been invited by CARU Regional Lead for CHO3, Mary Fahy. Kerry shared the impact of Mary’s engaging and interactive session with our 3rd year undergraduate nursing students studying palliative care. This collaboration illustrates the powerful connection between clinical expertise and education, enriching student learning and strengthening practice.

It was an inspiring and meaningful event, reinforcing the importance of compassionate, person-centred care and ongoing education in supporting individuals and families at end of life.
