📚 Students from ATU’s BA (Hons) in Communications with English are helping to deliver “Still Reading”, a welcoming shared-reading series for people with dementia at Letterkenny Central Library.

Following a pilot project involving ATU’s Dr Clara Neary and Dr Jane Lugea of Queen’s University Belfast, the initiative gives students the opportunity to use their communication and literary skills to make a positive difference in the community.

Sessions begin on Thursday, 1 October, from 11am–12.30pm. No advance reading is required – just come along and enjoy.

📧 To register, email [email protected] or call 074 912 4950.

ATU has become the first university to introduce emergency adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPens) and dedicated Eco Powered Cabinet storage units, with the first devices now installed at its Killybegs Campus.

This pioneering initiative enhances campus safety by ensuring life-saving treatment is available for severe allergic reactions, both during and outside Student Health Service hours. The project combines accessible emergency equipment with specially trained staff responders, providing an extra layer of protection for students, staff and visitors when every second counts.

👏A fantastic example of collaboration, innovation and commitment to student wellbeing, with plans to strengthen anaphylaxis preparedness across campus communities.
