There is a greater appreciation of the role of the Architectural Technologist for a variety of reasons; there have been significant changes in the standards and techniques used in modern construction; the vast bulk of architectural drawings are produced using computer aided design; building legislation has been enacted to ensure the protection of the environment and the public have become more dis

cerning in their appreciation of architecture. Architects are still primarily designers but their relationships with the other architectural professions have become more intricate with an increasing complexity of building and design technologies.
