We’re delighted to share another inspiring student success story! 🌟
Today, we are proud to share a fantastic testimonial from Alexandra, who is employed by Centra and recently completed the Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision Programme.
"I’ve been working in retail for about eight years, seven of which have been with Centra," Alexandra shares. "I chose to enroll in the programme because I wanted to push myself, advance my career, and gain a much deeper understanding of how retail businesses operate."
For Alexandra, the hands-on nature of the course made all the difference. "What I enjoyed most was how practical it was—a lot of what we learned could be applied directly in the workplace. I won’t lie, balancing full-time work with study wasn't easy, but it was completely worth it. It builds genuine, real-world confidence rather than just theoretical knowledge. It has made me far better prepared to lead a team and handle the daily challenges we all face in retail."
She adds with a smile, "The picture below doesn’t need too many words—it’s proof of just how much this programme has helped me!"
We look forward to seeing you at graduation this September, Alexandra! 🎓

Since the launch of the Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision Programme in 2019, Aramark has been a valued employer partner, continuously investing in the development of its people through the programme. We are proud to have supported so many of their colleagues on their learning journey and are delighted to share the following testimonial from Niall Lavery, Director of Learning & Development at ARAMARK Ireland, on the impact the programme has had on both employees and the business.
"At Aramark, we have been delighted with our experience and outcomes of enrolling colleagues on the Retail Supervision Apprenticeship Programme.
The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. Colleagues consistently describe the programme as rewarding, energising and highly engaging. Many I’ve spoken with personally have highlighted the increased confidence they have gained through developing new skills, broadening their knowledge and applying their learning.
One of the programme's key strengths is its blended learning approach. The balance of online and in-person sessions provides flexibility while also creating valuable opportunities to connect with fellow learners and industry professionals. Colleagues have also appreciated the wide range of topics covered, which are both practical and relevant to the challenges and opportunities they encounter in the workplace.
The ongoing assessment structure is another aspect that has been particularly well received. Rather than relying on a single end-point evaluation, which could be overwhelming for some who’ve been out of an educational environment for a number of years, regular assessments allow learners to track their progress, understand where they are performing well and identify areas for further development throughout the programme.
The support provided by Retail Ireland Skillnet has been exceptional for both our colleagues and myself. The programme team and tutors are approachable, encouraging and invested in each learner's success. Their guidance, expertise and willingness to support participants at every stage of the journey have played a significant role in creating a positive learning experience.
Overall, the Retail Supervision Apprenticeship Programme has delivered substantial benefits for both our colleagues and our business, helping to develop confident, capable individuals who are better equipped to lead their teams and drive performance"
