Don't forget to pack some extra change tomorrow! It's ours and the Convent's Ice-cream day for World Down Syndrome Day. We'll be selling in the Courtyard area outside of the canteen. All of the proceeds will go to charity and sure you get a nice ice-cream!

Our four 5th Year representatives recently took part in LKMUN 2018 which took place on the 7th and 8th of March and it's safe to say they all enjoyed it!

Kai Mc Hugh represented the DPRK (North Korea)
Conor Walker represented NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation)
Shay Toner represented PNA (Palestinian National Authority)
Seamus O'Donnell represented Indonesia

The quality of debating was extraordinary over the two days and we'd like to say a very big well done to all of the participants!

The DPRK proposed an amendment to transfer the whole world's nuclear weaponry to North Korea for "safe keeping" however this did not get passed.

NATO spoke well and managed to convince the General Assembly to kick the U.K. out of NATO.

Palestinian National Authority delivered a speech very well to try and recognise the rights of the Palestinian people and fought hard to try and get Palestine recognised as a state.

Indonesia delivered a well written speech about the Biodiversity in his country which gave the delegates a lot of information regarding the resolution based around Biodiversity.

All in all the Student Council would like to congratulate the organising committee for a spectacularly well run event!
