Further Education Centre Letterfrack/Clifden Email [email protected] The centre facilities include classrooms, a computer room, and a fully equipped art room.

The Further Education Centre, Letterfrack, opened the 1st of January, 2002, with twelve full-time students in Business Studies or Computer Aided Design. Now as of 2012, the centre has twenty full-time and approximately one hundred part-time students studying childcare, art and design, basic computers, ECDL, healthcare, hairdressing, and business.

Did you know bats are mammals and will not fly into your hair! Thank you to Albert Nolan from Bat Conservation Ireland who gave us a super talk on the Amazing World of Bats earlier this month! He allayed all our fears about these little creatures. Students from QQI Horticulture, Outdoor Sport & Recreation and Healthcare all joined in. Thanks Albert

The GRETB Letterfrack celebrated Green Day 2026 today in glorious sunshine in Connemara. We started off the day visiting Claddaghduff National School where they had their Swift Boxes, donated by the GRETB, hung on their school gable. Big thanks to Principal Laura and all the teachers and children for facilitating our visit, and Lynda Huxley from Swift Conservation Ireland for making it all happen. Looking forward to hearing about the swifts arrival in the future.
Back in the centre we were busy doing a litter and waste monitoring exercise - there were too many paper cups in the recycling bin! More improvement needed there!
And big thanks to Verena Berard, GRETB Horticulture teacher, for giving a talk on the GRETB garden compost system - lots of tips for home use.
