Eerie eyeballs 👀

A fun, simple idea to do with the kids this weekend. Super tasty too 😋

100g madeira cake (buy or make your own)
100g chocolate 🍫
100g press
200g white chocolate
Some smarties/m&ms
Red food colouring pen/food colouring and a tooth pick
Some chocolate or black fondant icing for centre of the eyes

1.break up the madeira cake and oreos using a food processor
2.melt the milk chocolate and use it to bind the cake and biscuits mix together
3.dampen hands with a bit of water and roll the cake mix into 10 even sized balls
4.chill for about an hour until they're solid
5.melt the white chocolate and cover the balls fully. You have the option here to place them on skewers for serving
6.place a smartie on each eye while the white chocolate is setting
7.use the red food colouring pen/ food pick to draw in the vein effect when chocolate has set
8.finish off by adding dark chocolate or black fondant icing into the centre of each eye.

Creepy Pastry Hands 👻

So easy and fun to do with kids🤗 you could fill them with anything really but this is a fun dinner to have over the Halloween weekend 🧙‍♀️

1 onion
500g mince
250g passata
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tin kidney/black beans
2 sheets of shortcrust pastry

1.preheat oven to 180degrees
2.saute onion and add mince.cook until browned
3.add passata and spices
4.add sugar and beans and cook through
5.roll out pastry.draw hand templates on parchment and cut around on pastry using a sharp knife
6.fill one side and place other hand on top.
7.seal edges using fork and glaze.
8.bake for 20mins until golden.
9.serve and enjoy

Spider Cookies 🕷

70g butter
50g peanut butter
150g caster sugar
1 egg
Drop vanilla essence
180g plain flour
1/2 top bicarb soda
12 rolos
100g milk/dark chocolate
Icing eyes/marshmallow for eyes

1.cream butter, sugar & peanut butter
2.beat in egg+vanilla
3.sieve in flour+bicarb of soda. Fold in.
4.place spoonfuls in lined tray. Press thumb into centre.
5.bake for 15mins at 180degrees.
6.melt choc in bowl over pot of water.
7.pop chocolate into piping bag.
8.pipe spider legs.
9.use chocolate to stick on icing eyes OR cut up marshmallows for eyes, stick on with chocolate and use the piping bag to pop on tiny pupils.
10.serve up and enjoooy🤗

Where did those 4 weeks go😭
I had a ball over the past month working online with a great bunch of kids. We made tasty meals, had great chats and laughs and implemented a whole pile of life skills for the kids to take with them going forward🤗

Dahl for dinner 👌🏻
A great dinner option for the colder days & a super batch cook recipe. Lentils are a super veggie protein option and provide iron, fibre, magnesium and zinc. Throw in some garlic and ginger and you have a great cold busting dinner for the whole family 👪
