WE’RE HIRING

Leixlip ETNS is seeking a bus es**rt to support pupils travelling to and from school.

Hours of Work
Morning: Depart Leixlip ETNS at approximately 7:10am to collect pupils, arriving back at the school by 8:40am.
Afternoon: Depart the school at 2:20pm with pupils to their home/drop-off point, returning to the school between 3:30pm and 4:00pm.
Monday to Friday, in line with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities
Assisting pupils on and off the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
Supervising pupils during travel, including checking seat belts and safe storage of bags/equipment.
Acting as a link between home and school for relevant communication.
Treating pupils, parents, and bus drivers with sensitivity and respect.
Meeting the bus driver daily at Leixlip ETNS.
Supporting the Educate Together ethos.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, energetic, and flexible, and available to work throughout the school calendar year. They will also be aware of the child-centred principles of the Educate Together ethos.

The successful candidate will be Garda Vetted by the school / Educate Together and will be required to complete child protection training and any other Continuous Professional Development relevant to the position.

Salary
€15.66 per hour (Department of Education and Youth rate).
Paid fortnightly during term time.
Escorts are not paid during school holidays but receive statutory holiday pay of 8%.

The school yard was alive with excitement on Thursday as our pupils took to the ‘stage’ for our end of year concert, a happy celebration of music, drama, sunshine and school spirit.

Each class brought something special, songs, poems, and plenty of smiley faces. A big ‘well done’ to Fifth Class who took us on an adventure through Ancient Greece with their entertaining drama full of myths, legends, and Gods and Goddesses.

It was a wonderful to gather as a school community, not just to mark the end of the year, but also to celebrate our new school taking shape around us. Huge thanks to the builders for pausing their work so the concert could take centre stage.
Thankfully the weather was glorious, adding to the summery feeling of the day.

The support from parents, grandparents and families made the day even more special, and the children’s joy was written all over their faces.

A big thank you to the staff who brought it all together. A lovely end to a busy school year.

Great fun was had at our Sports Day yesterday! The weather stayed fine, and the children enjoyed a wide range of fun activities throughout the day.

We were delighted to be able to use the fantastic facilities at the GAA fields, thanks again to Leixlip GAA Club.

A big thank you to St Mary’s Leixlip GAA Club for their continued support of our school. We really appreciate the sports equipment gifted to us, the excellent coaching sessions with Sandra, and the use of the GAA field throughout the year.
