"What a lovely morning for a walk to Drumhierny ! A massive thank you to Maisy Moffett's dad, Karl Moffett, for treating all the children to hot chocolate! 😄☕☕ The boys and girls were absolutely delighted with their trip to the playground, and the hot chocolate was a definite hit with everyone. 👌👌

It's been a whirlwind of a week at Bright Buttons! We kicked things off with a fantastic preschool graduation for our Year 2s on Friday 🥳, followed by an exciting ambulance visit on Monday. Today marks the last day of preschool, and we celebrated with a special treat from the ice cream van🍦🍦

A huge congratulations to all our 23 graduates! 👏🥳 We've had an incredible two years (or one year for some!) with these amazing children, and they've achieved so much. We're so proud of them and wish them all the very best as they head off to primary school. We can't wait to hear about all their future successes!

We also want to extend a massive thank you to Trevor and Kathy from the National Ambulance Service for making Monday so special and of Course to Marcella Gallagher for making this possible. The children were so excited to explore the ambulance, play the sirens, and learn about checking heartbeats. And of course, a big thank you to Nicole from the ice cream van for making today extra sweet!

To all the families who have been part of Bright Buttons over the past two years, thank you for the wonderful memories and fun. We wish you all the very best as you move on. We're also excited to welcome new children and families through our doors in September.😊😊

Today, our preschool year two class had some very special visitors! Andrew Molloy, Shane McManus, and Paddy Green, who all work for Uisce Éireann. They came in to give the children a fantastic presentation. They shared all about how water travels through a system to become clean, and even taught the little ones about what should and shouldn't be flushed down the toilet. The children had a great time with some fun water experiments too! The best part they even got some goodies and a lovely water bottle to bring home . A massive thank you to Andrew, Shane, and Paddy for taking the time to spend an hour with the group today and share their knowledge.😊😊👏👏

Bags are available all summer, in English and Irish, in libraries throughout Leitrim.

Our Year 1 Preschool were busy digging & making magic potions today😀

Potion-making introduces early science concepts — experimenting, mixing, observing changes, and exploring cause and effect — all through joyful play. Digging, scooping, pouring, and stirring strengthen fine and gross motor skills while helping children connect with nature.

Most importantly, outdoor messy play gives children freedom: freedom to imagine, create, explore, and simply be children. The dirt washes off, but the confidence, memories, and developmental benefits stay with them for life. 🌿✨

"We had such a special treat today in preschool year two! Huge thanks to Rian Geoghegan and his dad, Kevin Geoghegan, for sharing his musical talents. The children absolutely loved listening to the tin whistle and were all smiles and happy tapping. 🪈😄"
