Welcome Back 🌿

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to school on Tuesday after the summer break. 🏫

A very special thank you to our wonderful parents and pupils who gave their time and energy over the summer to enhance the sensory area and to care for and improve our school grounds. 🌸🌱 Your hard work, kindness and commitment have made such a positive difference to our school.

It is lovely to see our school looking so welcoming and cared for, ready for the children to return and enjoy these special spaces. 💚

We are incredibly proud of our school community and look forward to a happy and successful year ahead. ✨

A growing school in County Leitrim is set to purchase new iPads and software after being awarded funding to enhance its technology offering.

The RISE Community Fund has awarded a cash grant to St Joseph’s National School as part of its new national programme to provide cash injections to schools in every county throughout 2026.

The grant will enable the school to move forward with a number of technology investments that are planned to significantly enhance teaching, learning and digital skills development across the school.

A very active day at the Shannon Adventure Centre for the 3rd to 6th class tour today.☀️ Everyone enjoyed a mix of water and other outdoor activities.👏🏽

Kayaking, canoeing, pier jumping, mud slides, water races, archery, climbing walls, obstacle courses, team challenges and much more today.🙌🏼 Great fun had by all!🙂

Top class coaching 🔑

All children participated in two excellent coaching programmes at St Joseph’s recently.

GAA 🏐
Thank you very much to Fionn Curley, our local Games Development GAA Officer who finished up this week with us. The focus of this 19 week programme was to practice the skills of the game, develop fundamental movement skills and to promote participation with the local GAA clubs.

Basketball 🏀
Thank you very much to our own Ms McAnearney also, who co-ordinated a very successful six week basketball coaching programme recently at St Joseph’s. Her game knowledge and previous coaching experience was key to this success. It was great to see the enthusiasm and skill development over the past few weeks.

Most of all, the children enjoyed these sessions and had fun. Thank you to both coaches for their efforts, expertise and dedication👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thank you very much to JJ O Hara and all the staff at Future Cast for welcoming us for an educational visit today. It was a very engaging morning for all the children who were very impressed by the amazing building, state of the art facilities, modern technology and variety of services provided.

Thank you very much to St Clare’s Primary School for the warm welcome we received today. The pupils from 6th class participated in their second debate of the year and showcased some excellent presentation and debating skills.

It has been a very worthwhile experience and one that will benefit the 6th class pupils as they prepare to graduate and move on from St Joseph’s soon! Well done all. 👏🏽 🥳 🎤

Thanks very much to our Parents Association for organising an ice cream van today.A great treat to celebrate the St Joseph’s NS school football team winning the Cumann na mBunscol 7 a side shield final over the weekend 🥳 Well done all🙌🏼
