THANK YOU to everyone who filled out the recent survey. We are genuinely bowled over by the huge number of parents who have been in touch and it is very clear now that we can move on to a formal consultation stage. We have had a HUGE response to the page since Monday last . Lots of people telling us about the need for a more extensive creche service & the waiting lists in Roscommon and Longford. We will be working now with a local committee to establish the numbers who require the service . Spread the word to other parents please & watch this space. Thank you

New Childcare demand consultation

A big thank you firstly to everyone who has asked us to take part in this public consultation on the need for childcare to meet the new huge demand since the closure of Bord na Móna & ESB in our area.

It is clear that with more women now going out to work in the community after the layoff of the male workers, there is huge pressure to find space locally for childcare.

It is our hope to put forward a proposal to provide a state of the art facility here in Ballyleague and Lanesboro to cater for babies and children of all ages IF it is shown that there are enough parents in need of this new facility .

We would ask all parents and interested people to take part in this consultation which will be part of the Just Transition Fund process by registering on this zoom link as an individual with their own e mail address and going online tomorrow Tuesday January 18 from 10am to 12 noon and contributing to the online debate on the need for new facilities in the community
