Seven years ago as today, I became a yoga teacher.

I enrolled without thinking twice in the last hours of the early bird discount, and this was bliss as I know I wouldn't have joined if I could give it another thought.

It has been an amazing adventure, but equally exhausting: for the first few weekends, I remember the relief of leaving the class in the late afternoon to retire inside my car just to be on my own (introverts out there, hear me out! :P )

Things got better on the way though, and I met a bunch of amazing women, now all gone on their own paths.

I started teaching straight away and continued until spring 2020 when I had to stop for the well know worldwide pandemic.

I haven't taught since, and while there are some things I miss from my classes, I have continued studying during lockdowns and I have thereafter joined two very different courses (that I still endure and enjoy) and developed an interest in the science behind yoga.

I am currently practicing way more than I was when I was actively teaching, and this makes me particularly happy.

Cheers to the next seven years then, let's see where this path will lead.

Balasana
🔹Balasana is a resting pose and one of the foundations of yoga
🔹Its name come from the sanskrit word "Bala" meaning "child", hence it is "Child's pose" in English
🔹The pose helps to alleviate stress and anxiety, encourages steady breath and releases tension in the back body
🔹While it is a really simple pose, the benefits are enhanced when our body surrenders to gravity
🔹The extended asana is a slightly more active version that gives a gentle stretch on the shoulders and upper back

Did you know about balasana? Do you include it in your practice?

Thank you all for joining me to the first "Yoga by the river" session! The weather was clement with us and we had a really special guest! Don't try to beat her hair in the wind, she is too gorgeous 😍

Hello! How are you doing lovely people?
It has been a long time since we talked last!
I hope you are enjoying the temperamental Irish summer :)

I have decided to resume my Yoga classes, but there will be a few changes.
I will run some classes outdoor (weather permitting!) on Sunday mornings every other week, starting *drums rolling* this Sunday, the 5th of July!

We will meet in the green area by the Kinsale bridge, behind the exercise area.

While phase 3 of Ireland's roadmap for reopening permits outside gatherings up to 200 people, I am afraid there won't be room for all the 199 of you that couldn't wait to start yoga again :P

So please, pm me on the page or Whatsapp me at 085.8133718 if you would like to join. We'll keep it to a low number to permit social distancing.

Important info:

- venue: green area by the Kinsale Bridge
- date: Sunday, 05JUL2020, 9.15 AM
- what you need: your MAT and a blanket/hoodie for final relaxation
- the class will be cancelled in case of rain, so check the page for updates!

It will be a slow flow as most of us, including me, will probably be a bit stiff ;)

Can't wait to see you all!

What else? See you on the mat!

Hi all! Due to the delicate situation, I have decided to suspend my classes for the time being :)

Take care of yourself and the community while we will go through this :) (and after! 😊)

And remember you can do some yoga at home too!

See you ASAP!
