County Clare is European Volunteering Capital 2027 — and on 24 September we’re kicking things off with the Official Launch in Ennis.

Join us at Treacys West County Hotel at 6 p.m. for a first look at what’s ahead for 2027.

The evening will include the launch of clare2027.ie, volunteer stories, a preview of the 2027 programme, the European Volunteering Capital 2027 Ambassador Programme, a panel discussion, and an opportunity to share your ideas and help shape the year ahead.

You’ll also have the chance to meet organisations from across Clare and find out more about volunteering opportunities.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of our dear colleague and friend, Liam Lewis.

Liam was a kind and thoughtful teacher who generously shared his love and knowledge of cookery and art with us all. We will miss Liam greatly, especially his gentle and caring nature, and the delicious food he prepared with his learners each Tuesday. Our sincere sympathies to Katie, Áine, Conal, and their extended family. Rest in peace, Liam.

Restorative Clare in Action event.

Youthreach Kilrush were delighted to celebrate the various successes and achievements that have occurred in the county since 2019 and to provide an opportunity for people to connect. Our QQI Level 4, Year 2 learners took part in a restorative practice /active bystander skills programme for teenagers.

Our Youthreach learners recently had a day trip to the LCETB Burren Outdoor Education centre, Learners took part in Kayaking, Caving & Rock Climbing in the Burren. This is part of their QQI Level 4 Health Related Fitness module.
