📢 Attendance Announcement

➡️ In August, 86.2% of pupils were in Tier 1 (satisfactory attendance), while 13.8% of children were in Tier 3 (chronic absenteeism).

➡️ We are hoping to see a big increase in the number of children attending school regularly throughout September.

➡️ Our target is for 80% of pupils to be in Tier 1 and attending school regularly. ✅

➡️ Every child, every school, every day! We miss you when you’re not in! 💚

School re-opens tomorrow morning, August 27th at 9:20am for a full school day. Junior infants start at 9:30 until 1:00pm tomorrow.
Looking forward to a lovely school year.

Today, 4th Class celebrated the premiere of their professionally made movie, Heart of Dartness. The stars of the show enjoyed the full celebrity experience, walking the red carpet and soaking up the excitement of their big debut!

Kilmallock Historical Society visited our school today to present certificates and prizes to the pupils of 6th class who had entered their Poster competition recently. It was a great opportunity to learn about the history of Kilmallock.

6th class had a very adventurous school tour to Kilfinane Outdoor Education centre today.

6th class had a great day out at UL Academy for Children’s marketing workshop and climbing wall today. They learned about the 4 Ps of marketing (product, price, place, promotion) and each group marketed their own brand of ice-cream. This was followed by a very exciting trip to the climbing wall, topped off with a delicious lunch in the stables.

Scoil Mocheallóg is delighted to announce the launch of Phase One of "Walls of Work and Wonder".

Created by the students of 5th Class, this exciting project explores life in Medieval Kilmallock through a unique child-led heritage and storytelling lens. Inspired by local history, the children researched, wrote, and illustrated a collection of original stories imagining what life might have been like for a child growing up in Medieval Kilmallock.

The students then transformed these stories into podcast scripts and professionally recorded them in the school. The result is a series of eight engaging podcasts, each approximately five minutes long, bringing the voices and stories of Medieval Kilmallock to life.

This project was developed as part of the Arts Council of Ireland’s Creative Schools Programme, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and local heritage.

Members of our Green Schools Committee were delighted to receive our 6th Green Flag today from An Taisce for Globalisation Litter and Waste. The committee, along with all the children in the school worked very hard to achieve this flag during which they learned all about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the benefits of choosing Fair Trade in the supermarket. We also explored the global connections we can make in our school. Well done to all involved.
