Wonder could I be Super annoying here (I know the answer to this 😂) and ask anyone who has eaten in our restaurant Anderson’s Boathouse restaurant and enjoyed the seafood. Please vote for us/them. It’s my husband Garry and his team in the kitchen. They put in a very big summer, like every summer. They prep an awful lot of seafood and cook every single morsel to order. It’s no easy task, let me tell ye. It’s definitely a more complicated process than what I do in the seafood shack. Don’t vote for the seafood shack. Vote for the Boathouse, please and thanks.

Folks I’m slightly out of action personally at the moment. Popped tendon and something happening with cartilage in my wrist as well, soft tissue damage. Not looking for sympathy. Just letting people know on here if they are looking for me and are ringing the shack for some reason, just let my team know what it’s in regards to please. We get about 20 calls a day to try and sell us new software for till systems, payments systems. If ye’re looking for me personally for some particular reason and not to try and sell me something. Just let them know and I’ll call you back. (I’m sorted for till systems by the way!) signed an 18 month contract and everything. 😅 my poor staff answering the phone…. 🙈 we’re on some list obviously.

We will be opening the Shack tomorrow at a slightly later time of 1:30pm out of respect for Michael and his family and so some of our team can attend the funeral and say their last good byes. Rest in Peace & sleep well Michael and thank you for all the jokes over the years. ❤️

The death has occurred of

Michael Melly
Donegal
The sudden death has occurred of Michael Melly of Mellys Cafe, Main Street, Killybegs on 20th August 2026 surrounded by his loving family.



Predecessed by his parents John and Rosaleen Melly, his sister Lillian and nephew Noel.



He will be sadly missed by his Sister Faustina (Hughie), Fiona, brother Shane and brother in law John Holmes.

Nieces Sarah and Mary, Nephews John, Michael and Hugh John.

Reposing at Mc Brearty's Funeral home, Killybegs from 7.15pm - 9pm on Friday (21st August) with rosary at 9pm and reposing on Saturday from 1pm - 7pm.
Removal from his residence on Sunday 23rd August for 11am funeral mass in St. Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Family flowers only please.

📣 Last call for Donegal!
