O’Donoghue Brothers to Represent Kerry at Community Games Finals
Three brothers from Glenflesk will proudly represent Kerry at the National Community Games Finals in Carlow this August following a series of impressive performances at county and regional level.
Robbie, Ryan and Jacob O’Donoghue, sons of Marlene and Ger O’Donoghue, have all secured their places at the prestigious national event, marking a proud achievement for both their family and the Glenflesk community.
Youngest of the trio, Robbie, qualified directly from the Kerry County Finals after claiming gold in the boys’ under-eight 80 metres event. His brothers Ryan and Jacob also enjoyed success at county level, both winning silver medals and progressing to the Regional Finals in Templemore on Saturday.
Ryan delivered a strong performance in the boys’ under-14 800 metres, while Jacob impressed in the under-10 200 metres, with both athletes finishing second in their respective races to book their places in Carlow.
The O’Donoghue brothers will be joined by fellow Glenflesk athletes Dylan O’Connor, who qualified in the boys’ under-10 100 metres, and Kaylee Lynch in the girls’ under-10 100 metres.
It is a remarkable achievement for Glenflesk Community Games to have five young athletes representing the area at the National Community Games Finals.
Congratulations have been extended to all of the competitors, their families and coaches, with the community wishing them every success when they compete in Carlow next month.
