Congratulations to our beautiful young girls from Laune Rangers and Glenflesk who qualified for the Scór Kerry Final in Tintean Theater last Saturday. A fabulous venue and the girls loved performing on the big stage. The LR Sweets of May are prizewinners in our eyes and the complements from the other dance teachers in attendance who watched them perform as to how graceful, elegant, their team work and about their lovely smiles was lovely to hear. Well done to our Glenflesk dancer S.D. who placed on the day in the Fairy Reel….a lovely boost for the parish on a very difficult week. And to the parents, grandparents, siblings and cousins who came out to support the girls. We try to pass on the love of traditional dancing to the youth of Kerry as it is so important to keep our culture going. Congrats to the music and Novelty group who are celebrating their prizes. See you all this week.

Irwin School of Irish Damcing has always believed in keeping the traditional form of dance alive and kicking! The emphasis is on team work and building friendships. Children from different areas, schools etc join together for the love of dance. We would like to thank past pupils Síofra, Niamh, Jacquelyn and Ciara of course, who were great helpers at the parade and to Nicole M who it is always a pleasure to bump in to on Patrick’s Day. Well done to all….you are prize winners!! We were announced as the Most Entertaining Group in St. Patrick’s Day Parade Killarney as everyone loved seeing the dancers hop, skip and perform 2 hands and 6 hands….. well done to all from the 4 year olds to the ‘older’ dancers and our volunteers who helped supervise.

We are heart broken to hear of the tragic passing of one of our former dancers. A beautiful young lady taken too soon. She was a petite, quiet little princess who worked so hard in class and was such a lovely dancer. Her love of horses won over and all her time went into her passion for horse riding. To her beautiful family, parents Deirdre and Eamon and her brother James. To her extended family and her little cousins who attend and will miss Isabelle so much. Her aunts, uncles…. all her buddies from the Gael Scoil and Pres…. We pray for strength for you all at this terrible time. Love from all the Irwins.

Well done to 3rd class up to 6th from Scoil Mhuire who danced, sang and played at Library Place today. We were so proud seeing you all take part in a celebration of May.

Congratulations to prize winners Laune Rangers figure dancing in the Scór na bPáistí County Final. The team performed at the Tintean Theater in Ballybunion on Sunday and were up against some wonderful groups who have been together for a few years so our new team bringing another 8 prizes back to Mid Kerry is fantastic. Well done to all and thank you to their families for the support. Well done to the other LR groups performing in Ballad, Novelty, Solo Singing and our Cara in Solo Dancing.
