Jonah Special School

Last Wednesday was a very special day in the Jonah as our students received their Junior Cycle results! We want to take this opportunity to say just how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of them. 💙

Every student has worked hard, overcome challenges and grown so much along the way. We hope you take a moment to celebrate your achievements and feel proud of all that you have accomplished. You deserve to celebrate this milestone!

As always, while we love sharing and celebrating our students’ achievements, we also fully respect the wishes of those who prefer not to be featured on social media. Please know that every single student is included in our pride and congratulations, whether pictured here or not. Your privacy is important to us, and we are just as proud of you! 💙

Well done to you all! We wish you every success and happiness as you continue on your journey. Keep believing in yourselves and remember how far you have come!

Great to see and only down the road from us here in the Jonah

🎨 A post office in Waterford has become the first in Ireland to introduce a dedicated sensory hour.

📬 Ferrybank Post Office wanted to create a calm space for those with ASD and additional needs.

🍪 The sensory hour will run every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3pm to 4pm, offering an interactive sensory wall, fidget toys and a sweet treat to take home.

As we wrap up another wonderful school year, we were delighted to celebrate with a special July provision filled with fun, relaxation, and creativity. 🌞

Our students enjoyed a calming sound healing session, explored a variety of sensory play activities, and had great fun baking some delicious treats together. It was a lovely way to reflect on all the hard work, achievements, and memorable moments we've shared throughout the year.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for their dedication and support, to our amazing students for bringing so much joy and enthusiasm each day, and to our students families for your continued encouragement and partnership.

We wish all of our staff, students, and their families a happy, safe, and relaxing summer break. We hope you enjoy every moment, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another fantastic year in September! ☀️💛

Fresh air, teamwork, and big smiles! 🌳 The playground is truly one of the best classrooms. Whether it’s taking turns or just enjoying some downtime with friends, outdoor play is so important for our students' development. Long may the weather last 😎
