The Kilkenny Fruit Tree Project was established by environmental sustainability group, Future Proof Kilkenny as part of the Kilkenny 400 events to highlight the importance of local food. The sites include school grounds, residential housing estates, public parks, and the premises of different companies and government bodies. The trees are sourced in Ireland and are mainly heritage varieties of apple, pear, plum, cobnut and walnut.

Some pics from todays Grafting workshop. Thanks to all who came and brought scion wood. Lots of old heritage varieties such as Mrs Perry, Glenstall Abbey and Irish Peach. Fingers crossed all the grafts will take.
