Sensei Dave Thatcher Seminar December 7th - 9th 2012

The Irish Jiu-Jitsu Academy is pleased to announce that Sensei Dave Thatcher will be visiting our dojo in Waterford again in December 2012, and those who attended his Seminar in May will know just what to expect from this formidable jiujutska.

On this trip he will also be accompanied by his Sensei, Sensei Peter Palmer and Sensei Stephen Dron, so we can look forward to a busy few days of training, learning and of course having some fun at the same time.

Anyone wanting to see what modern and practical Jiu-Jitsu looks like should attend - remember being a student means that you're always learning something new!

Further details of the seminar will be announced in the very near future but we just wanted to let students and family know ahead of time so they can plan ahead :-)

I hope that everyone had a nice Christmas. Training is back to normal from this week.

There is now advanced training under Renshi Farrell in the Waterford Dojo every Monday for anyone who can make it and there will be one Monday every month dedicated to kyu waza for people that are grading.

Congratulations to Nial Barrett and Kevin Moorley who successfully graded for their 9th Kyu on Monday in the Waterford Dojo under Renshi Farrell.

Adult Kyu grades eligable to grade will be tested on Wednesday 24th of August in Top-Pro Gym by Renshi Hazel Farrell. Good luck to everyone participating in this grading. We will be working only on kyu waza only between now and the test.

We would like to congratulate Jean Buffy Keane and Rania Mikhail from the Maynooth Irish Jiu Jitsu Academy Dojo who successfully graded to Sho Dan last Saturday under Sensei Jonathan McGeoghan. Their black belts were well earned under a very skilled and versatile teacher in McGeoghan Sensei.
