Church Hill National School

Church Hill National School Church Hill National School, Co. Kilkenny Church Hill NS is the oldest "functioning" school in the country, established in July 1833.

A pre-famine school set up to educate the children of English settlers. These settlers worked the lands of the Earl of Desart. Refurbishments were carried out in 1913 and also in 1992. Classes were conducted in the original building up to June 2004. In May 2005 we moved into our new building. The old building has been fully refurbished and contains staff room, learning support and resource rooms.

While the result didn't go Ms. Dowling's way today, we are incredibly proud of her.

Ms. Dowling is a fantastic role model to all the boys and girls in Church Hill NS, showing them the value of hard work, commitment, determination and representing her club and county with such pride.

We are so proud to have you as part of our team.

We got there in the end!

We welcomed James from Bravo Fitness to our Active School Week on Thursday and Emily for Pilates with the older classes on Friday. The children really loved the range of different activities every day.

The rain may have made us postpone our planned Sports Day on Friday but it was worth the wait as we finished up our Active School Week today in the sun!

Thanks to Evergreen Fc for the use of their immaculate facilities.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the day โ˜€๏ธ ๐ŸฅŽ ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿฅ‡

Thanks also to Foroige for organising a lovely, active morning for the 6th class in Fort Rangers.

Thank you to Ms. Mooney & staff for organising.

Both of our teams reached the final and it was a very competitive game.

It was a great morning of fun and as always, a massive thank you to Burnchurch NS for hosting such a brilliant competition.

Thank you to Ms Hughes for organising.
