🐟🌿 Another fantastic year of the Something Fishy Programme in partnership with Inland Fisheries Ireland!
In 2026, 270 pupils from 9 schools got the chance to explore Ireland’s freshwater ecosystems through a mix of classroom learning and hands-on fieldwork. From kick sampling and insect identification to fish handling, electrofishing demonstrations and water quality investigations, pupils experienced environmental science in action.
The feedback from schools was overwhelmingly positive, with teachers highlighting the high levels of pupil engagement, the expertise of IFI staff and the value of learning in local rivers and waterways.
A huge thank you to Inland Fisheries Ireland and all participating schools for making this year's programme such a success. We look forward to continuing to inspire curiosity, environmental awareness and outdoor learning in 2027! 🌊🐟🍃
