🌱 New term. New beginnings. New adventures 🌱

On Monday 31st, we officially welcomed our children back for the start of a brand-new term here at Danesfort Childcare Facility💛

There’s something very special about a new term, new faces, new routines, new friendships and so many exciting milestones ahead.

From our newest arrivals settling into creche life at 1 year old, to our children taking their next steps into SAC, every transition is a big moment. We’re also delighted to welcome our new preschool children as they continue building confidence, independence and all those important skills that prepare them for their next adventure. 🥰

Our different groups may be at different stages, but they all have one thing in common, they are growing every day💫

Here’s to a new term filled with laughter, learning, friendship, confidence and lots of happy memories.

🎀💗 WHAT A DAY! THE VERY PINK RUN – KILKENNY 2026 💗🎀

Yesterday, our team from Danesfort Childcare took part in the Very Pink Run in Kilkenny, walking and running together to raise vital funds and awareness for breast cancer research and support 💕🎀

We were taking part for one of our own staff members, which made the day even more special and meaningful for all of us. 💗

🌧️ The rain certainly didn’t hold us back! We turned up, got soaked, kept smiling and completed the run together! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👏

And the best news of all…we have raised MORE than our original fundraising target! 🎉🙌

A huge THANK YOU to every single person who donated, supported, encouraged us, shared our fundraiser or cheered us on. Your generosity has been incredible, and we are so grateful. 💗

A special well done to all the amazing parents and children from Danesfort Childcare who we met along the way! Seeing so many of our families getting involved and supporting the cause was absolutely brilliant. 👏🥰

💗 We're Taking on the Very Pink Run 2026! 💗

The staff of Danesfort Childcare are proudly taking part in the Very Pink Run 2026 to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.

This year's event is especially meaningful to us because one of our own team members has been affected by cancer. We are running for her, standing beside her every step of the way, and showing our support in the hope that together we can help make a difference for everyone impacted by this disease.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help fund life-saving breast cancer research and support the incredible work of Breast Cancer Ireland.

Danesfort Community Childcare Facility is looking for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Cleaner to join our team.

📍 Location: County Kilkenny
⏰ Part-Time Hours - 5 days
✅ No Weekend Work

The role includes:
✨ Cleaning classrooms, toilets and communal areas
✨ Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting
✨ Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for our children and staff
✨ Following health & safety and infection control procedures

We're looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a friendly team.

🌞⚽🎨 SAC Summer Camp – Week 1 Highlights! 🎨⚽🌞

What. A. Week!!! 😄🙌 Week 1 of our School Age Care (SAC) Summer Camp has officially kicked off in full energy, colour, and chaos (the good kind!) 🎉

This week we went WORLD CUP MAD 🌍⚽ with flags from around the globe, mini matches, cheering squads, and lots of football fun! 🏳️‍🌈🏴🏁 The kids absolutely loved learning about different countries while getting stuck into team games and friendly matches.

We also explored:
⚽ Sensory play
🎨 Creative crafts & flag making
🌳 Outdoor games, running, climbing & fresh air adventures
🤝 Teamwork games that got everyone involved
😂 Plenty of laughter, friendships & fun!

☀️ Hot Weather Update ☀️

We know the current spell of warm weather is presenting challenges for many families and childcare providers, with some services adjusting their opening arrangements during the heat.

Thankfully, we are fortunate to have a building with well-shaded rooms and cooler indoor spaces, which allows us to remain open and continue providing a comfortable environment for the children in our care.

Our team will continue to monitor conditions closely throughout the day, ensuring children stay cool, well hydrated, and comfortable. Activities will be adapted as needed, making the most of shaded outdoor areas and cooler indoor spaces.

We would like to thank all our families for your continued support, trust, and understanding. The wellbeing and safety of the children in our care remains our top priority, and we look forward to welcoming everyone as usual.

A huge thank you to Eamonn for bringing in Applejack today! 🍎🐴

The children had such a fantastic time meeting, learning about, and spending time with Applejack. It was a wonderful experience that brought so much excitement, smiles, and fun to everyone's day.

A special thank you as well to Eamonn's parents for taking the time to make this visit possible. We truly appreciate your kindness and support in giving the children such a memorable experience.

🎓✨ Graduation Day at DFCC! ✨🎓

Tomorrow is a very special day for us here at DFCC as we celebrate our wonderful children who are graduating and preparing to take their next big step into “big school” this September 💛📚

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Watching their confidence grow, their friendships blossom, and their personalities shine over the past ECCE 1 & ECCE 2 years has been an absolute privilege 🌈

A heartfelt thank you to all of our parents and families for your trust, support, and partnership throughout your child’s early years journey with us. Your role in this foundation is so important, and we truly appreciate working alongside you every step of the way 🤍

A very special mention to our amazing preschool team- the heart of everything we do. The dedication, planning, extra hours, rehearsals, practice runs, and the incredible effort that has gone into preparing for graduation has been outstanding. You have gone above and beyond to make tomorrow such a meaningful and memorable celebration for the children ✨👏

Thank you also to Pat in the Community Centre for all your help and support in hosting us, and to Rebecca in the kitchen for all the organising and preparation of catering ahead of tomorrow’s big celebration - we really appreciate your help in making the day so special for our families 🍰💐
