What a fantastic first week our new Junior Infants have had! 💛🏫

We have been very busy settling into school life and getting to know our new classroom, teacher and friends. The children have enjoyed lots of fun activities including sorting, colouring, playing with our new toys and taking part in PE obstacle courses. 🧸🖍️🤸

One of the highlights of our week was meeting our 6th Class buddies! 🥰 Each Junior Infant has been paired with a buddy who will look out for them, help them as they settle into school and be a friendly face around the school throughout the year. 💕

We are so proud of how well everyone has settled in and we are looking forward to lots more fun, learning and adventures together! 🌈✨

Yesterday we said a very fond farewell to Fr. Chris as he prepares to leave our parish.

Fr. Chris has been a wonderful friend and support to our school, and we are so grateful for the time, care and kindness he has shown to our pupils and staff. From celebrating special Masses with us to preparing our children for the sacraments, and especially the memorable Communion and Confirmation retreats, Fr. Chris has played such a special part in the life of our school.

We will miss his warm welcome, his sense of fun and the genuine interest he has always shown in our children and our school community.

Thank you, Fr. Chris, for everything you have done for Scoil Fhionáin. We wish you every happiness and blessing as you begin the next chapter of your journey. You will always be very welcome back to visit us! 💙

Today, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland came to visit the school. Earlier this year we did a fundraiser for the organisation and it was such a privilege for the whole school to meet both Michelle and her puppy in training Nash 🐕‍🦺🐾. The work and dedication of Michelle and her fellow volunteers is incredible, the support these dogs give children in need is truly remarkable.

☀️🍦With a heatwave on the way, what better science experiment for 5th Class to do than making ice-cream in a bag! By mixing salt and ice cubes we made freezing saltwater which we used to freeze our ingredients. Check out the pictures!
