Kildare Community College was financed by the government as a public private partnership (PPP) project and FIMA was engaged by the prime contractor, Sisk, to carry out civil works on the project. Joseph’s Academy, Kildare and Kildare Vocational School, to form one community school catering for 1,000 students at the 10 acre site. The two storey post primary school accommodates 25 classrooms, 38 spe

cialist classrooms, a special needs unit, a library, staff/administration areas, a sports hall, store areas, and toilet facilities. The development has been designed to ensure best possible value in terms of education, organisation, operation, extended use for the community and sustainability. Outdoor facilities at the school include a full size GAA pitch, 6 hard surface playing areas, vehicular/pedestrian access, car park, cycling parking areas, bus and car park set down areas. Despite the inclement snow and frost of December 2010, FIMA completed the civils contract ten weeks ahead of the handover date and there were no safety incidents or accidents involving FIMA while on this site.

Kildare Town Community School is delighted to present Bugsy Malone on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 12th, 13th and 14th of November in the school gym at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale in the school at €10 for an adult and €5 for a student. students have been working very hard and the school has discovered some fantastic talent. It promises to be three great nights of singing and dancing. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Musical Oliver! with music and lyrics by Lionel Bart is based on the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. It premiered in the West End in 1960, enjoying a long run, a successful Broadway production in 1963 and further tours and revivals. It was made into a musical film in 1968. Kildare Town Community School are delighted to present Oliver! on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 13th, 14th and 15th of November in the school gym at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale from the school office and the parish office priced at €10 for an adult and €5 for a student. The musical is directed by Eoin Gannon and the Musical Director is Alison Behan. The show is choreographed by Vicky Barry. The cast of 35 students have been working very hard since September and the school has discovered some fantastic talent. It promises to be three great nights of singing and dancing. We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to the Green Schools Committee on their fantastic work as Kildare Town Community School has been awarded the International Green Flag from on An Taisce. The award ceremony will be held in Croke Park Conference Centre in May.
