Trailing Thoughts Workshop - what a wonderful morning yesterday!
Myself and Jane O'Loughlin, () had an amazing morning with all who came.

This was the gorgeous view from the room and we got to have a lovely, reflective walk out there too. Just taking time out from our busy lives and space for ourselves.

We had journaling, meditations, techniques and more, to learn ways to deal with our thoughts.

And to give you a little idea of how it went, some of the gorgeous feedback in the pics ❤

It's that time of year again, one week to go for the KBC Dublin Marathon! I get to be back again as an official pacer and can't wait.

I love being right there supporting and sharing the experience with so many people.

So, thought it might be a good time to share in a blog post my path to running and some of the lessons I’ve learnt along the way...
..one of the biggest being what can happen in your life when you change your thinking from ‘I can’t’ to I can’!

I didn't know it at the time when I ran my first 10k race,
(something I never thought I could do),
but finishing that day was just the start.

‘Be curious and try different things out before you decide if you can do it or not.
You could be saying no to something that could add such value to your life.’

“Employers talk about the importance of innovation and how it fosters and drives growth, but what is becoming increasingly apparent is that employees can’t be innovative if they are so overworked that they don’t have time to think”

Both employers and employees need to recognise we're not robots with limitless energy and time. We need rest and time for life outside of work to be able to do our best in work.

“... this is as much an issue for individuals who compulsively check their devices as it is for the organisations they work for.”

I've been quiet here over the summer. I was looking forward to slowing down a bit and regrouping after a busy start to the year.

Summer can give us a chance to do that. Reflecting at the year so far, some of my plans have gone very well but there are other great intentions that have just gone by the wayside ☺️.

It's busy again but I've had the chance to check-in and do a little reset.
It does mean I've been holding back with some things and will have to get out of my comfort zone. It also means better time-management so that I don't overspread and can spend more time doing what I enjoy.

What did your summer reflection tell you?

Do you know that when we start making a change in our lives, like get a new job, try to get fitter or build in new and better habits, our brain starts kicking in and does what it can to stop you.

So sometimes it takes a bit of work to keep moving forward towards that goal.
There are lots of ways to do this but for now, know that this resistance is completely normal, it doesn't mean you can't, it IS letting you know that change is actually happening!

I've written a little more about it here...

Had a brilliant weekend speaking at Thrive Festival with my fellow coaches. It was great to see so many people at our talks, a real sign of the interest and need for self-care, self-belief and resilience.

I'm not fit for much today but still started the day with a mentally recharging morning run.

I didn't put too much pressure on myself for the rest of the day. Knowing it was going to be a full-on weekend, I had made sure to keep my day clear and just get a few necessary tasks done.

Planning space and timeout is really important, sometimes you have to schedule it in. Make sure you put self-care as a priority in your life ❤

‘Being resilient in difficult times is a skill that some people seem to do better in than others.
The good news is, it’s a skill that can be learned and developed.’

Emotional Resilience is one of the topics I’ll be talking about at Thrive Festival next week.
