U9 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION- Martin Wynne.

U10 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION- Heidi Meredith

U13 WORLD CHAMPION- Rosie Kennedy.

This is Martin’s 2nd year to take home the International Championship❤️

Heidi’s first time competing in the International championship and bringing home gold!

And

Rosie’s 6TH WORLD TITLE !!!!

To say we’re proud doesn’t even cut it

A massive congratulations to all of our amazing superstars in Belgium last week 🌎🥰

To say we are proud teachers is an understatement !!
All these dancers put in sooo much work not only in the few weeks leading up to worlds, but the last year 🌎❤️

To get up onto a world stage alone is such an achievement, but to get up and perform how they did was outstanding ❤️

Aside from their amazing dancing, the memories made, friendships made and camaraderie with everyone is what we’re most proud of ❤️

We brought home lots of silverware including 3 champions:

U9 International Champion- Martin Wynne

U10 International Champion- Heidi Meredith

U13 World Champion- Rosie Kennedy

Hi everyone,

Firstly we would like to congratulate and thank Kevin & team and Lisa & team and the Ulster team for hosting three fabulous feis so far in 2026, The Mullingar, Kildare & Northern Province feis.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you all to The Midlands Open Feis 2026.

Entries are now open on GoFeis.

The closing date for entries is 14th March 2026.
As numbers are capped, we would ask you to please get your entries in as soon as possible.

Dance floors: Stage Floor Hire

Food will be served all day in the Bar & Bistro in the Talbot Hotel Carlow.
There is plenty of parking at the venue.

There is a retail park beside the venue including Dunnes Stores, chemist, etc for all your needs.

The Dome Entertainment Centre is directly beside the venue for kids entertainment.

Accommodation:
Rooms can be booked by phone or online (preferably by phone letting them
Know you are attending the feis.
At the moment there is very limited availability for the Saturday night

Rates:
Friday night: Double room €152 B&B per room
2 Ad 1 Ch €162 B&B per room
2 Ad 2 Ch. €189 B&B per room

Saturday night: Very limited availability:
Double room €173 B&B per room
2 Ad 1 Ch €183 B&B per room
2 Ad 2 Ch €210 B&B per room

Food will be served all day in the Bar & Bistro located in the Hotel.

Ample parking provided at the venue.

Perpetual trophies for all Preliminary & Open Championships.

Championships:
Preliminary Championship – Reel (48 bars) or Slip Jig (40 bars) and either a Treble Jig (48 bars) or Hornpipe (40 bars)
Open Championships - Reel (48 bars) or Slip Jig (40 bars) and either a Treble Jig (48 bars) or Hornpipe (40 bars)
Round 1 of all championships will be hardshoe

Modern and Traditional Set Dance Competitions will be held in a dedicated set dance room. (Enter on the day)

Open Treble reel can be entered on the day.

All registered dancers may enter extra dances on the day at the registration desk. Dancers will receive a ticket to give to the floor starter.

All Team / Figure entries can be entered on the day at the registration desk where teams will be given a ticket.

If a dancer wishes to dance in any competition that has not been pre-entered, a ticket must be presented to the floor starter.

The feis will be run under the rules of Wida, www.Irish.dance.

It's a bumper weekend for WIDA with feiseanna taking place in Germany and Canada and also our innovative worldwide digital feis hosted by Sparkle the Unicorn in Australia! We also have dancers taking grades exams in grades 8-11 and teacher examinations TCRG and TMRF in Monasterevin, Ireland. Let's have a fabulous WIDA weekend!

The dust has settled and WOW!! What a World Championships 🌍

This incredible group of dancers took to the stage in Liège, Belgium this week- as a whole, these dancers have worked so unbelievably hard the last few months in preparation for these Championships.
We as teachers, see all the hard work that goes on outside of class aswel as in class and we couldn’t be prouder of these absolute superstars🤩🤩

These guys, between solos and teams……went out on stage and were just phenomenal ❤️
They danced their socks off and showed everyone over there how amazing they truly are! Everyone got to see what we do weekly 🥰

With amazing results on stage, what always makes us burst with pride is seeing the dancers interact off stage- the support they give each other through the highs and the lows would bring a tear to anyone’s eye! Not only within our own dance school but showing the same friendliness, kindness and support to other schools too ❤️

We came home from Liège with many solo placings, Premiership podium positions, recalls, championships placings- it was definitely a World championship to remember!🥰
