This week we lost year another legend, Dolly Parton. What strikes me the most about her is that despite how she was often treated in interviews, she always kept her composure and spoke so well of herself. She knew who she was and never apologies for it. A woman who grew up at a time when I’m sure a lot of men doubted her but she stayed strong and true in her own self worth.

A true role model for any woman.

And it got me thinking about the sc****ly clad role models young girls see today. The ones who quite often are manufactured and lack real character. Am I wrong?

Do you think there are less people to look up to nowadays?

Who did you admire growing up?

Sometimes the reason you feel stuck isn’t because you don’t know what to do.

It’s because you’re afraid of what might happen if you actually do it.

Change is uncomfortable. So is making the decision. But staying somewhere you know you’ve outgrown has a cost too.

Sometimes the first step is simply having an honest conversation about where you are and what you really want.

I have a few spaces free this week for a clarity call if you feel like you need one. 👇🏻

In this episode of Soul Sessions with Emma, Michelle A. Hardwick returns to share what has happened since her first appearance on the podcast and the journey behind her now-published book, Menopause Wingman: The Emotional Handbook for Partners.

Michelle talks openly about why menopause is not just an individual experience, but something that can deeply affect relationships, communication, intimacy and connection. Drawing on conversations with men from different backgrounds, she shares what partners often misunderstand, why so many relationships struggle during this stage of life, and how greater awareness, compassion and communication can help couples move through it together.

We also talk about Michelle’s own journey of reinvention, the unexpected opportunities that followed the book, and what can happen when you trust an idea before you know exactly where it will lead.

A conversation about relationships, change, intuition, and the courage to begin again.

Episode 35 out now on Spotify, Apple & YouTube

Don't forget to check out Michelle's earlier episode first (8) to hear her backstory.

This dilemma comes up so much when chatting to friends, clients and family. I have witnessed so many people pressure themselves to follow a certain timeline like getting married, having children etc rushing towards that so called ‘finish line’ .. but then years later wishing they had given it more thought.
Making decisions out of fear is never going to end well.
Check in with your body when you are making a decision, do you feel constantly anxious or at peace?

Do you put pressure on yourself to achieve things by a certain age?

Are you Irish, living abroad… and secretly struggling? 🇮🇪

I get it.

I spent many years living and working abroad, and eventually made the decision to return to Ireland.

And even now, I’m still figuring out what “home” looks like for me and whether Ireland is where I’ll ultimately stay.

Because being an expat can be incredible, but it can also be complicated.

You can love the life you’ve created abroad and still miss home.

You can come back to Ireland and realise that you’ve changed , and home has changed too.

You can feel caught between two places, wondering where you actually belong.

You might be asking yourself:

Do I stay or do I go?
Am I happy here anymore?
What would I even come home to?
Have I outgrown this version of my life?
Where do I actually belong now?

I understand those questions because I’ve lived many of them myself.

I’m Emma, a Personal Growth Mentor, former teacher and host of Soul Sessions with Emma. I now work with people who find themselves at a crossroads , helping them find clarity, rebuild confidence and work out what they genuinely want next.

And sometimes, you don’t need somebody to give you the answer.

You just need a space where you can finally say out loud what’s really going on.

If any of this sounds like where you are right now, I’d love to chat.

Send me a DM and tell me what’s going on for you. No pressure. Just a conversation.

A little reminder that you are never too old, too late or too far down one path to start again.

I recently had another inspiring conversation with Michelle Hardwick, author of Menopause Wingman.

Michelle has lived a life full of different chapters -travelling the world, building a career helping others, becoming a hypnotherapist, and now adding published author to her story.

When we first spoke last year, her book was still an idea she was bringing to life. Now, it’s out in the world.

And I think that’s what inspires me most about her story.

Sometimes the next chapter begins simply because we’re brave enough to listen to that little voice saying, “There’s something more for me.”

🎙️ Take a listen to our conversation last year and Michelle’s story. Part 2 will be out soon.

You can always start again.

Have you ever had that feeling that you’re meant for more… but you’re not quite sure what “more” looks like yet?

Maybe life has changed.
A relationship has ended.
Your career no longer feels right.
You’ve moved somewhere new — or you’re thinking about starting again.

Or maybe, from the outside, everything looks fine… but inside, you just feel stuck.

I know what it’s like to question what comes next. And a huge part of the work I do now comes from my own experiences of change, starting over and having to rediscover who I am along the way.

As a Personal Growth Mentor, I help people recognise the potential in themselves that they sometimes can’t see yet.

Through my 1:1 mentorship, we create the space to uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface, get clearer on what you actually want, and build the confidence to make choices that feel right for you.

You don’t need to have the whole future figured out.

Sometimes you just need the right space, the right questions and someone beside you while you work out your next step.

If you’re feeling stuck, navigating change, or simply know you want more from your life, send me a DM with the word “MORE”. 🤎

Maybe it’s time to see what’s possible.

Hi I’m Emma. I’ve worked in education for nearly 20 years so I know the highs and lows of the job. the workload, the staff room politics and the pressures you are under.
Often it can get too much and feel isolated and afraid to share how we are really feeling.
I’m a personal growth mentor and my job is to help you to separate the story from the evidence and support you through challenging times.
I offer 1:1 coaching and also group programmes. You can find me on Instagram or message me here.
