What a beautiful closing to this school year & opening of a new cohort of Forest School Leader trainees! 🌿✨

We’re celebrating with families in the forest at Larchill Arcadian Gardens today 🌳💚 and we’re so excited to welcome an incredible group of children aged 5–10 for a summer of adventure, discovery, and connection in nature 🌱🦋☀️

Wonderful networking day with fellow Heritage in Schools specialists in Portlaoise earlier this month 🌿
It was great to catch up, exchange ideas, and enjoy inspiring conversations with a wonderfully diverse group working across bogs, ancient built sites, and cultural heritage 🏞️🏛️✨

“🌱Active Learners had their final Forest School day yesterday 🌿

On Wednesday we decided to make some cards for Ciara, about our favorite parts of Forest School this year. We worked super hard to make sure they were perfect 🥰

On Thursday, we headed out in all weathers to the Forest! When we arrived, it was like we never left. We had a sensory walk through the Forest, and then got straight to work! We explored, climbed, painted, created and really enjoyed every aspect of the Forest. We had a great time finding the 'animals' hidden around the trees and making creations from clay also! 🐰🦡🦔🐿️

We finished the day with a fire! We got to make our own smores, and had delicious hot dogs too!🔥 Before we left, we gave Ciara our beautiful cards. We made sure to show them to the Guardian Tree and we sang 'Standing Like a Tree' before we said goodbye!

We would like to say a massive thank you to Ciara Hinksman from Forest School Ireland, for providing our four preschool rooms with such beautiful Forest school experiences this year. Our children have gained confidence, resilience and life skills that will stand to them beyond their time in Jigsaw 💚”
