BACK TO SCHOOL 2026/2027

It was so lovely to welcome all our pupils and staff back today and to see the school filled once again with happy faces, laughter and excitement.

A very special welcome to our new Junior Infants — Ella, Daniella, Lily, Alex, Calvin, Conall, Matthew, Max C and Max S. We hope this is the beginning of many happy years of learning, friendship and wonderful memories at Scoil Eoin Baiste.

We are also delighted to welcome our new staff members: Ms Field, our new teacher; Nikki, our new SNA; and Catherine, our new school secretary. We hope they will be very happy as part of the Kilbrin NS school family.

Wishing everyone a happy and successful school year ahead!

Today was one of those special days that reminds us just how quickly time flies.

We said goodbye to our wonderful 6th class pupils – Bella, Caoimhe, Katelyn, Lexie, Laura, Chloe, Jack, Daniel, Alan and Gearóid. There were plenty of smiles, lots of hugs and more than a few tears. Some of us were very grateful for the sunshine and the sunglasses! 😎

As Mark Bird so beautifully captures in The Full Stop Day, this isn’t really the end. It’s simply a full stop before the next sentence, the next chapter and the next adventure.

To our fantastic Class of 2026 – thank you for the laughter, the friendships, the memories and the joy you’ve brought to our school. We are so proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see what lies ahead for you all. Wishing you every happiness and success as you begin your secondary school journey.

Today also marked the end of an era for several much-loved families in our school community as we said goodbye to the , O’Connell’s, Taylor/ Brosnans and Kearney/Sheill families. Thank you for the years of support, friendship and being such an important part of our school life.

And finally, today truly marked the end of an extraordinary chapter. Since Scoil Eoin Baiste first opened its doors in 1972, there has always been a Heffernan from Ballybane in the building! After an incredible 54 years, that remarkable connection came to an end today when Gearoid left us. It’s hard to imagine our school without a Heffernan, and we thank every generation of the family for the memories, the commitment and the lasting contribution they’ve made to our school community.

Although today we say goodbye, all of our families will always have a place here. Once part of the Kilbrin NS family, always part of the Kilbrin NS family!!

Good luck, Class of 2026. ❤️

The door of Scoil Eoin Baiste will always be open for you.

We had a fabulous day out today on the 6th class tour. We started the day with a train journey to Dublin before heading to the Aqualough at Flynn Park. The day was finished off with a spot of shopping in Blanchardstown Centre.

Our Junior & Senior Infants had a wonderful day today at Kilmeedy Social Farm on their school tour.

There were lots of smiles, laughter and excitement as the children enjoyed meeting the animals, exploring the farm; getting a ride on the barrel train; having such fun playing with their friends and there was even a baby calf born while we were there!

A big thank you to everyone at Kilmeedy Social Farm for such a warm welcome and looking after us so well.

Happy Birthday to our wonderful caretaker, Timmy! 🎉🎂

Timmy is always so good to everyone in our school and does a lot of work behind the scenes in keeping the school in shape. The pitch was cut to perfection for today’s soccer final !

We had a lovely celebration this afternoon with cake and balloons, and a big thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate and wish Timmy well.

Wishing you a fantastic birthday, Timmy, and a year filled with happiness, good health, and plenty of reasons to smile.
