Today was one of those special days that reminds us just how quickly time flies.
We said goodbye to our wonderful 6th class pupils – Bella, Caoimhe, Katelyn, Lexie, Laura, Chloe, Jack, Daniel, Alan and Gearóid. There were plenty of smiles, lots of hugs and more than a few tears. Some of us were very grateful for the sunshine and the sunglasses! 😎
As Mark Bird so beautifully captures in The Full Stop Day, this isn’t really the end. It’s simply a full stop before the next sentence, the next chapter and the next adventure.
To our fantastic Class of 2026 – thank you for the laughter, the friendships, the memories and the joy you’ve brought to our school. We are so proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see what lies ahead for you all. Wishing you every happiness and success as you begin your secondary school journey.
Today also marked the end of an era for several much-loved families in our school community as we said goodbye to the , O’Connell’s, Taylor/ Brosnans and Kearney/Sheill families. Thank you for the years of support, friendship and being such an important part of our school life.
And finally, today truly marked the end of an extraordinary chapter. Since Scoil Eoin Baiste first opened its doors in 1972, there has always been a Heffernan from Ballybane in the building! After an incredible 54 years, that remarkable connection came to an end today when Gearoid left us. It’s hard to imagine our school without a Heffernan, and we thank every generation of the family for the memories, the commitment and the lasting contribution they’ve made to our school community.
Although today we say goodbye, all of our families will always have a place here. Once part of the Kilbrin NS family, always part of the Kilbrin NS family!!
Good luck, Class of 2026. ❤️
The door of Scoil Eoin Baiste will always be open for you.
