🧵 The end of a little era...
After 16 years of teaching children to sew, I've made the decision that I won't be returning to children's sewing classes in September, and won't be running children's classes going forward.
It's quite strange to write that after all this time!
Over the years I've taught so many wonderful young sewers. We've threaded needles, learned to use sewing machines, made cushions, bags, toys, bunting and all manner of creations. There have been wonky seams, tangled bobbins, VERY ambitious project ideas, fabulous fabric choices and some genuinely brilliant sewing.
I've watched nervous beginners grow into confident and creative young makers. Some children have come back term after term and year after year, and I've had the lovely experience of watching them grow up along the way.
I'm enormously grateful to all the parents who have trusted me with their children over the years, and to the schools, halls and community organisations who have welcomed and supported my classes.
And, of course, the biggest thank you goes to all my young sewers, past and present. It's been an absolute pleasure and privilege to teach you. ❤️
This isn't goodbye to sewing or creativity for me, but it is time to close this particular chapter.
Thank you for 16 wonderful years. 🧵✂️❤️
