Safetalk su***de prevention evening

Safetalk registration remains open this week for the local course in Gowran Park on Monday 7th November from 6pm to 9.30pm.

You will be trained in identifying signals of those at risk of su***de and how to direct towards appropriate care.

The course is suitable for anyone over 18 years of age, but not suitable for anyone who has been bereaved in the last year.

Those who completes the evening in full will be Safetalk certified. This is is an internationally recognised accreditation.

Dear parents/gaurdians

🎄Christmas Hamper🎄

A reminder that the committee will be collecting donations for the popular Christmas hampers *tomorrow*, all donations regardless of how small will be greatly appreciated.
We will be at the parish hall entrance gate during the morning drop off as well as the 2pm and 3pm pick ups.

🧁 *Reminder - Cake sale this Friday 22nd October

🧁 All donations of baked or bought goods can be dropped at the school Friday morning from 9am.
(Please be mindful of the schools NUT FREE policy.)

🧁 If you would like your containers returned please be sure to label them with your child’s name, class and teacher. Otherwise it might not make it back.

🧁 If you are available to help out at all on the day any small amount of time would be greatly appreciated. Either before for set up, during or after for clean up. Please contact any member of the Parents Association if you are available.

🧁 Every class will be brought to the sale and will have an opportunity to buy something so if you would like to send ur child in with some coins, every little bit helps.

🧁 In an attempt to save on plastic bags being used this year we are asking all children’s to bring their lunch box (or spare box) to the cake sale for their purchases.

🧁We hope that both the children and parents enjoy the cake sale and happy eating everyone

DEFIBRILLATORS FOR GOWRAN & DUNGARVAN

You might have noticed these around. They’re part of an awareness campaign to raise funds to purchase defibrillators for our communities. Unfortunately someone has started knocking them down and in some cases removing them completely. They may be doing so as they don’t know what they are but we’d kindly ask people to work with us as we try to spread the word about the fundraiser for this worthy cause. Due to the pandemic its increasingly difficult to get the word out within the community. These posters are helping us spread the word and will only be posted for 2 weeks, after which time we’ll remove them.

On the fundraising front, the campaign is going really well. We have approx. €1500 already raised towards our €5000 target. Thank you to all who have already donated. We’d like to see every household in the community donating any amount, no matter how small, as any one of us might need this resource in the future. 😊
