ALL IRELAND CHAMPION : ATHLETICS.

What an incredible showing from GCS athletes this weekend at the 123.ie All-Ireland Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore! 💪

🥇 Anthony Kenny (1st Year) – 1st place, Minor Boys Long Jump.What an unbelievable achievement.
Anthony had a winning jump of 5.81m and went into the final having set a new Connacht record which had stood for 40 years.

🥉🥉 Lauren Kilduff (6th Year) – Bronze medals in both 100m hurdles & 400m hurdles
Fantastic way to finish her school year.

Huge congratulations to all involved, with fantastic performances also from Jack Lundon (1st Year), Adele Casserly (2nd Year), and Luke Walsh (TY).

ATHLETIC NEWS: From Ardrahan to Texas....

Gort Community School is incredibly proud to wish our Leaving Certificate student Lauren Kilduff the very best of luck as she embarks on an exciting new chapter.

Lauren has secured a four-year athletic scholarship to Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas, where she will compete in collegiate athletics while continuing her education — a fantastic achievement and a testament to her dedication and talent.

As a small token of our appreciation for her outstanding contribution to athletics in our school and the wider community, Lauren was presented with our new school athletic singlet.

We have no doubt she will go on to achieve great things, and we look forward to following her journey.We are so poud of you Lauren. Best of luck in the future!

A message for our Exam Students and their parents:

There are some important things to remember to ensure that examination scripts are processed accurately, and the State Examination Commission has produced an Information Video to assist with this.
